Back on Two Island
"Okay Ash, I need you to calm yourself." Ultima said.
"There are people out to get me, how can I stay calm?" Ash asked.
"There's nothing you can do right now." Ultima said. "If you want a chance at beating them, we need to focus on harnessing your powers. And if you want to do that, you need to calm yourself down."
"Okay, you're right." Ash said, getting into a meditative stance. "Just like I was trained." Ash said, taking deep breaths, in and out.
Ultima watched as Ash began to glow with his aura, as it pulsed in and out with his breathing.
"Interesting." Ultima said to herself.
Ash continued his breathing techniques just as Lucario had taught him to do. He felt images come into focus, when he was suddenly snapped out of it.
"She's dead!" Ash exclaimed, bolting up.
"Ash, what happened, what did you see?" Ultima asked.
"Diane, she was still in the field, and Jessie came and froze her and then shattered her in one blow!" Ash exclaimed. "I have to stop her!" Ash called out.
"And then what." Ultima said, stopping the boys path with her cane. "If you go out there you'll fair no better than that Diane woman."
"But I have to try!" Ash said, pushing his way past. "She could kill more people if she gets away now."
"And what will stop her from doing the same to you?" Ultima asked.
"Nothing." Ash said. "But I can't sit idly by now."
"Very well, I see I can't stop you." Ultima said. "Just don't go all the way with your attacks."
Ash ran back to the same field he and Sceptile were at just earlier that day.
"Jessie!" Ash shouted into the empty field. "Argh!" Ash yelped as the ground around him exploded as aura tendrils launched him and Pikachu to safety.
'YOU ARE WELCOME.' The Primal Force said, having saved Ash.
"Looking for us twerp?" James taunted, as he and Meowth flew in on jet packs.
"I was looking for creepy and crazy, but you two will do just fine." Ash said. "Lapras come on out!"
"Dusknoir! Weavile! Let's go!" James called out.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail! Lapras use Ice Beam!"
"Dusknoir use Shadow Punch! Weavile use Ice Shard!"
Weavile leapt into the air, sending an attack at Lapras, the two attacks collided creating a burst of ice covering the arena. Meanwhile Pikachu charged at Dusknoir the two Pokemon colliding as Dusknoir fell to the ground.
"Lapras use Body Slam! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Weavile use Night Slash! Dusknoir use Fire Punch!"
Weavile and Dusknoir launched their attacks at Ash's Pokemon, as they collided with Pikachu's Thunderbolt resulting in a large explosion over the entire arena. Through the smoke cloud, Lapras launched forward through the air, slamming Weavile to the ground.
"Tell Jessie I'm going to take her down." Ash said. "Lapras use Water Gun! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Lapras launched Weavile into Dusknoir and into Meowth and James.
"Wait, hold on!" James exclaimed, as they were blasted by Pikachu's attack.
"Looks like we're blasting off again!" Meowth exclaimed.
Back at Ultima's house
"You should be dead." Ultima said in surprise.
"Why do I feel threatened by that?" Ash asked.
"I can see the future. I saw your perishing when you left." Ultima said.
"Jessie wasn't there." Ash said.
"Names do me no good." Ultima said. "But neither do my powers. Anything related to you that I see is no longer coming true."
"So wait, do we not win?" Ash asked.
"I'm not sure anymore." Ultima sighed. "It's all unclear to me now."
"Then let's go with something different, where is Lucario?" Ash asked.
"It doesn't work like that.' Ultima said.
"My powers work like that." Ash countered.
"Your powers are mostly physical, when they are more attuned to reality like mine it is more difficult to have precision on them." Ultima said.
"What if we combined them?" Ash asked.
"What do you mean, our powers don't work like that." Ultima declared.
"Look, my training let me see that Jessie was here on the island, but that was what was currently happening. Your powers let us see into the future, but not to an exact degree." Ash said. "Maybe if we combined them somehow through the aura plane we could sense where Lucario is."
"The aura plane is only accessible by the dead." Ultima said.
"No its not. I've been there, at least once." Ash countered. "It just takes concentration, or being dead."
"Exactly my point." Ultima sighed. "Look if you want to find help go to three island."
"What's there?" Ash asked.
"Nothing, its just the closest island you haven't been to." Ultima said. "If you want to help you need to keep moving forward."
"But what about my training?" Ash asked.
"What about it?" Ultima retorted. "You've been to the aura plane, your senses are beyond comprehension, there is nothing I can teach you right now."
"So now I just have to find where Brendan and Wally went and catch up with them." Ash groaned.
"I wish you the best of luck." Ultima said.
At the docks
"Daddy, daddy, I think that's him!" A little girl said, grabbing a man and dragging him over to Ash.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but you wouldn't happen to be Ash?" The man asked.
"Yeah, why?" Ash asked.
"Your friends helped us out on three island, and wanted us to tell you they were doing alright." The man said.
"Good to know, I'm heading that way myself, hopefully I can catch up to them." Ash said.
"Such odd young boys." The man said. "Now come on Lostelle, I had to close shop I was so worried, I'm sure people are just dying to get into our racetrack by this point."
