"She's Malfoy's cousin?"
Prologue
Anna Malfoy was having a really bad day. In the Gryffindor Common Room, people were staring at her because she was a Slytherin's cousin. Not even the nice person she sat next to in the Great Hall during dinner, Hermione Granger, would look her in the eye. Now, she was suffering hell because her cousin by marriage was a Slytherin. Oh well, Anna thought, it's not as bad as the atmosphere during the morning when her owl, Trey, came flying in through the open window with a dead mouse in his mouth, a few packages in his claws and at least six bats flying after him. Parvati and Lavender started screaming, which got Lisa and Mina screaming as well. Of course, things got worse when the dead mouse fell into Lavender's mouth and Parvati accidentally threw a hex at Anna, missing the owl that was flying around her head. It took a while for Anna to be able to use her fingers again and by that time, the bats were gone, Trey was in the Owlery and the dead mouse was extracted from Lavender's mouth. Anna apologized profusely and was forgiven by all. In turn Parvati apologized and was forgiven. The four girls had slightly warmed up to Anna and she relaxed, thinking, it wasn't so bad after all. The next day, she retold the story to Hermione and her cousin's girlfriend, Ginny. They both laughed and Ginny said," Don't worry about the whole she's Malfoy's cousin thing, it will cool off and people will just forget about it." "Thanks Gin."
They left the table and started walking to class; Ginny to Potions, Hermione to Ancient Runes and Anna to Divination. On her way there, she got lost and ran into another person. Anna's last conscious thought was how nice the person who picked her up smelled.
