POV Izumi Sogeki

I walked into the classroom and immediately noticed that Bakugou was back and he had scars on his face as well as wraps around his arms and hands. I made my way to the back of the room and sat down at my desk while Melissa sat at hers.

"Alright everyone, quiet down," Mr. Aizawa said, walking in wrapped up like a mummy.

"It's good to see you are alright," Ilda spoke up.

"Can you call that alright?" Tokage asked.

"My health is of none of your concern. Your fight isn't over yet," he said.

"What? More villains?" Kaminari asked.

"No, the UA Sports Festival," he sighed.

"Is it wise to hold such an event after an attack?" Ilda spoke up.

"The HPSC is pushing for us to do it to show that we won't be deterred by an attack on our students and all of you are expected to perform to the best of your abilities. The next two weeks we will be focusing on non combative heroics classes. Now then, you two get to your classes," he said, looking at Melissa and I who stood up and walked out.

We went to the classroom and went over to Hatsume since everyone else had already gotten started working on stuff.

"Oh, hey you two, how are you after, oh yeah," Hatsume said, quickly stopping her sentence and working on whatever was in her hands.

"It's fine, both of us are alright," I said.

"That's good, so what are you going to work on?" she asked.

"Well, we think we have something that can help you with your goals to get into a dual course like us," Melissa said.

"Oh, what?" she asked, putting down the small contraption and looking at us.

"This is a backpack that has wings that come out of it and would allow you to fly in a way similar to Iron-Man but honestly closer to Hawks thinking about it," I explained.

"Oh, and it would leave my hands free to use devices and stuff. How did you come across this idea?"

"Well, looking through some old Stark files there was a hero who worked with Iron-Man who used wings similar to this but since the tech is Stark Ind. and the patent hasn't been renewed you are free to build it. However with how much time you have left before the Sports Festival in order to have it done in time to test it and be adept at using it you'll need some help building it, so Melissa and I will help since we don't have too many things we want to make before it," I explained.

"Thank you for helping me," she said, smiling at us. "Now what do we need to make our baby?"

"Phrasing!" Melissa and I yelled.

We worked on the wings getting most of the metal started to be in the right shape before going to lunch and sitting down at our normal spot as I got all of our food like usual. After a bit Jirou, Ashido, and Tokage joined us, this time Tokage sitting away from both Melissa and I. It seemed as if Jirou convinced her to join and Ashido joined as well. We had some light conversation but nothing interesting. After we were done Hatsume went back to the classroom and Ashido and Jirou went to 1-A but Tokage lagged behind.

"Hey," I said, falling back next to her as Melissa went on the other side of her.

"H-hey, about what I did, can you please just forget it happened?" she asked, sighing.

"Hmm, no, but I can forgive you on one condition," Melissa said.

"W-what?" Tokage asked.

"Promise to not do it again without permission beforehand," she said, smirking.

"W-wait, you aren't mad?" she asked.

"Well, kinda, but more so at the fact that you went to fight that thing knowing it would most likely kill you," I said.

"A-alright, wait, without permission?" she asked, realizing what Melissa said.

"We talked about it and decided that we are alright with you wanting a kiss or just some physical contact, primarily because of Izumi's touch starvation, but still, just ask for permission if you want to," Melissa said.

"I-I'm not touch starved," I said.

"Hun, you are. You always ask for contact in some way," Melissa said.

"Fine, I might be a little bit," I admitted.

"Good of you to admit it, now let's get to class," Melissa said, hurrying up.

Tokage and I hurried after her and got to our seats and looked at each other with a small smile before class started.

"Alright, today you are going to go through this parkour course in your costumes in order to get used to moving in them in ways you might not be used to as well as figuring out if you can't move in certain ways since your costumes might not be the most mobile like Ilda's," Yumi said.

"Also, looking at some of your designs we have noticed some flaws and are making changes to them so if you notice a change it is for your safety. I don't want to read any of your obituaries before mine exists," Mr. Aizawa sighed.

"Now then, I'll show you how to do most of them," Yumi said.

For the rest of the day we just worked on our mobility with Melissa, Ashido, Tokage, and myself leading the pack with Toga not too far behind us. Once we were done we went to the classroom after changing for a debriefing and small reports on what we could do better. Then when we tried to leave there was a mob at our door.

"Woah," Kaminari said.

"Why are there so many people here?" Ashido asked.

"To scope out the class who survived a villain attack," Bakugou grunted.

"Don't act like you were there, you were in the nurse's office," Melissa muttered.

"Out of my way extras!"

"I don't think you realize what's at stake here," a boy with dark lavender hair said. "You see, most of us are general education kids who didn't make it, however if we do good enough we can steal your spots in the hero course."

"What? That's not possible," Yaoyorozu said.

"They aren't lying," Melissa said.

"I heard there were two Nulls in your class, I guess that's two free spots," the boy said.

"If I could not only pass the entrance exam but beat All Might's record in the practical then it shows that you could've gotten in if you actually spent a day in the gym for once in your life," I said, walking over to him. "I earned this spot because I put the work in, the work that you thought you didn't have to because you thought your mental quirk would be able to carry you into the hero course. If you are too lazy to put the work in then you don't deserve a place in the hero course."

"So a Null thinks that because they were saved from a bunch of little villains they have the right to stand with those who have quirks and are real people," he said.

"I watched one of my classmates get thrown against a wall and thought she had died along with my sister who was helping us," I said, causing a shadow of surprise across his face. "Luckily they lived, but I used that anger to fight the creature they made to kill All Might and I won. I put the work in and I reaped the benefits. You might think we are stuck up because we survived a mass villain attack but we all got lucky that we weren't killed. We had to fight for our lives, so if you think you intimidate me you are in for one hell of a surprise. Now, get out of my way since I have a meeting with the other class representatives," I growled.

"You are nothing but a useless Null little girl," the boy said.

"I'm not going to ask again," I said, glaring at him.

I started to walk forward and the crowd slowly moved out of the way. Once I got out I looked behind me and noticed that Melissa, Ashido, Jirou, Tokage, Toga, Kendo, Kodai, Yanagi, Kirishima, and Tokoyami were behind me, glaring at the rest as if it was a challenge to try something.

"Hey, at first with that blonde boy I thought your class was all stuck up, but after hearing what you said I want to apologize for my wrong idea about how you all were," a boy with silver grey hair said, walking over to us.

"It's fine," I said.

"I'm from 1-B, the reps asked me if I could see what was taking you so long," he said. "I'm Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu."

"A bit repetitive huh?" Melissa asked.

"Yeah, I'll admit that it's strange," he said, smiling similarly to Kirishima.

"Well, thank you but we should be good now," I said.

"Alright, it was great to meet you," he said, walking off.

Melissa and I headed to the meeting room and walked in to find the others were already sitting down.

"Sorry for keeping you, there was a crowd preventing us from leaving the classroom," I explained.

"What for?" Shishida asked.

"To tell us that us surviving shouldn't get to our heads basically and saying they would take our spots," I said.

"I pray that they find a way to not follow the darkness of blaming those who have been attacked," Shiozaki said.

"Agreed," Shishida said.

"Well then, let's get on with the meeting," I said.

The next week Melissa and I helped Hatsume with building the wings and by Monday they were finished.

"Alright, are you sure you understand how to fly them?" I asked, looking at Hatsume who was adjusting the pack on her back.

"Yup, I read the manual as well as watched the videos of that old hero that used the original version," she said.

"Alright, just don't try to do anything special. Fly up and then to the other side of the room," Melissa said, looking around the padded room of Gym Beta.

"Alright, are you ready to help if this goes terribly wrong?" she asked.

"Don't think that way," I said, setting up Tony on the cameras in here. "Falcon Flight Wings flight test one, ready when you are," I said, standing back a bit for the wings.

The wings came out of the pack and the thrusters activated. Hatsume slowly went into the air before hovering for a moment. She then shot forward to the other side of the room before turning and flying back towards us and landing on the ground in a roll that would put most acrobatics to shame.

"I'd say the test was a success," Hatsume said.

"How did you do that?" I asked. "You looked like it was natural for you to be flying like that before doing a roll that took me a while to learn and I'm still not perfect at."

"I've been doing it for longer and can't do it that well," Melissa said.

"Oh, that's because I did acrobatics for years before starting to build babies," Hatsume said, a rare ghost of emotion other than happiness on her face. "My family were members of the circus and did acrobatics. I did them until two years ago when the circus was attacked by a villain. We were doing an act and were up high and the net was removed. My parents along with my brother all had their lines shot down and died when they hit the ground. Since then I started building so that way I can make sure others don't have to go through what I did," she said, her normal smile going on her face.

"Well, sorry you had to go through that," I said, looking at her.

"It's fine," she said.

"Since we know that now we don't have to worry as much about your landings. Are you good to do the rest of the things you need to do for the Festival?" Melissa asked.

"Yup, I won't be using these too much but they will most definitely help me out a lot!"Hatsume said.

"Well, let us know if you ever want some help," I said.

"Will do!"

Melissa and I left her to finish figuring out all the ways she can maneuver with the wings. We decided to just focus on building more of our throwable stuff we are planning on using.

"Hey, Midnight," I said, walking into her office at the time of my normal meeting with her.

"Hello Izumi, what do you want to talk about today?" she asked, moving to her normal chair while I sat on the couch.

"Well, I'm just worried about the Sports Festival," I said.

"What for? Even without your gear you are amazing and powerful," Midnight said.

"It's just, I know my quirklessness is going to be brought up by the end of it but I'm worried about how people will react. When the news reporters were at the front of the school I froze up with how they were talking but-"

"Izumi, what others might think of you doesn't matter. When I was at UA everyone thought that my quirk would be better suited for a villain, but it's not the quirk or lack of one that makes a hero or a villain but the actions that they do. When you get your license you will be a hero and then it doesn't matter if you have a quirk or not," Midnight said. "Even if no one accepts you as a hero you will still be one and be able to help everyone you see in trouble. Don't worry about it, also I'm not expecting Mic to bring it up too much if at all."

"Alright, yeah, you're right. I'm just worrying for no reason," I said, still not fully convinced.

"I've grown accustomed to it," Midnight said. "So, how have you and Yumi been getting along?"

"Well, this last week she's been a bit busy with the Sports Festival and then patrols at night so we haven't had time to just spend time with each other," I said.

"Alright, well, tomorrow after class, when everyone else goes back to change, stay back and talk with her for a bit. I think she'll understand."

"Alright, yeah I don't know why I didn't think of that," I admitted.

"Because you are a ball of anxiety and depression at times," Midnight said.

"Oh, yeah that would explain it," I said.

"However, you are also strong in your convictions as well as physically and mentally being strong," she added. "Don't think I haven't heard about that purple haired boy in front of your class who you ripped a new one."

"I-um," I stuttered trying to think of what to say.

"Don't worry, you aren't in trouble and everything you said was valid," she said.

"Thanks, I guess I should've kept my cool."

"You don't have to, you can use it and make a hero persona like what I use, even though part of it is me but I normally just kick it up to an eleven," she said. "For you since you are using a darker theme, you can use your anger and no one would question should learn to use others' fear against them. I know it might not sound all that heroic but some use it in the field all the time. If you can get a person to stop and surrender with just intimidation then you would be better than most daylight heroes," she explained. "Just a thought, but it would be a way for you to get rid of all the excess energy you are building up with keeping your anger and annoyance mostly to yourself. Don't say you aren't, I'm a therapist, I can tell."

"I-alright yeah," I admitted.

"Now, is there anything else?"

"No, not really."

The next day for heroics we were in our PE uniforms and were just lifting in Gym Alpha which was just a large room filled with weight lifting equipment. I was currently benching with Melissa as my spotter.

"How can she lift that much?" Kaminari muttered. "She is probably just trying to act strong but is having difficulties, yeah that would make sense for a Null."

"Hey Kaminari, if you're going to talk about someone make sure they can't hear you. Oh, and I lift this much because I pushed my body to my limits and am pushing it even further than before," I said.

"Really, that's amazing!" Kirishima said.

"Alright everyone, that's time, go get changed and then you're free to go," Yumi said.

I stood back while everyone else left.

"Um, Yumi?" I asked, walking up to her.

"What's up Izumi?"

"I know you have a lot of work to do but I was curious if we could just spend some together. It's been a while since we have just spent time together," I said.

"Aw, I'm sorry Izumi. Sure, I was supposed to go on patrol tonight but I'll cancel it. I don't need to, it was just to make up for when I have to miss because of planning for the Festival," she said. "If you ever feel like I'm ignoring you or not spending enough time with you let me know and I'll make sure to spend time with you. I care for you so don't think you'd be a burden to ask me anything."

"Can I have a motorcycle?"

"Nice try but no, at least not until we look into it a bit more," she said, smirking.

"Thanks, love you," I said, giving her a hug.

"I love you too my dear little sister," she said, hugging me back.

After a moment I went and got changed and before sending Midnight a text telling her I didn't need a meeting. I met up with Melissa and Yumi at the gate and we walked together with Melissia breaking off to go to her apartment. When Yumi and I got home we sat on the couch and watched some movies while cuddling.

AN-

Next chapter it begins, the UA Sports Festival. There will be points where I will fear for my life as I will definitely be doing things to certain characters as well as making some of them worse than they already are and some decisions will be decided by my friend and I rolling D20s to decide things to add a layer of chaos to what is about to happen. Also, I want your opinions on Izumi using a persona similar to Batman's while in costume. She definitely is going to be getting more confident as well getting a little darker at times. As well for what hero she will be interning with I have made a list of Heroes who she can and will still be able to do what I have planned. They are Mirko, Ryukyu, Arrowette, Wild Wild Pussycats, and Midnight. While I am personally leaning towards one or two I want your opinions! Make sure to follow, favorite, comment, and kudos!
