Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha. Kuri is a made up character of mine, so you can't sue me for using her.

By the way, this story will mostly be in InuYasha's point of view. You don't like it, go read something else.

Confusion. That's what I felt after I had left her for all those months... alone in Kaede's village. Kuri was so cheerful that no one noticed if she ever got lonely, or sad... she was always kind to everyone.... even me. I was so rude to her, and still, she was kind. I didn't understand why... I was always curious to see why, but I never found out why she was so cheerful, so kindhearted. She was even more compassionate than Kagome...

Maybe I should start at the beginning, from when Kuri first came to the Sengoku Jidai.

I came up the Well to Kagome's time to nag her about coming back to my time with me. We needed to finish collecting the jewel shards, damn it! She was so stupid, always leaving for those dumb tests and whatever else...

It was a nice summer day that day, a wonderful breeze... I still remember because of her, the girl named Kuri.

I stormed inside Kagome's house, only to find her packing her yellow bag that she normally took with her down the Well. She smiled at me.

"InuYasha! I was wondering when you'd show up to drag me with you."

"Humph. You're full of shit."

"OSUWARI!!!"

"Ack!" I immediately fell face down on her floor, and gentle hands helped me up. I turned and started to snarl at whoever it was, only to come face to face with a pretty face other than Kagome's. She helped me to my feet and smiled at me a little before going back to packing as well.

Wait a minute, packing?!

"Kagome, who the hell is this, and why the hell is she packing a bag just like yours?!" I exclaimed, sounding quite irratated.

"Oh, didn't I tell you when I left, InuYasha? This is Reniku Kuri, she's in my class at school. She recently got orphaned, so she wants to live in the Sengoku Jidai."

"But how the hell did she find out about it in the first place?!"

Kagome smiled a little sheepishly at this. "I um... kinda told her by accident...."

"WHAAAAT?!" I roared, lunging at Kagome.

"OSUWARI!!!!!" I fell face down on the floor again, and once again, Kuri helped me up. I shoved her away roughly and she landed on her butt on the floor, looking confused.

I glared daggers at Kagome. "I can't believe you just went and told somebody about the Well and everything!!!" I cried, simply outraged at Kagome doing such a thing.

Kagome sighed and shook her head. "I don't see the problem. She hasn't told anyone, and it's not like she'll be a burden on anyone in the village, InuYasha."

I folded my arms over my chest. "Whatever, I don't give a damn. If she gets eaten alive by demons, it's not my fucking problem."

With that, I lead the way out of the room and back out to the Well, and the two girls followed me, carrying their large bags. Kagome seemed to be whispering words of encouragement to her quieter friend, saying something about what a nice guy I could be sometimes. Bullshit.

I hopped into the well without another word and Kagome jumped in with Kuri, holding hands and comforting her friend as they jumped in.

Kuri managed to get a place to live on her own with Kaede-babaa's help, and quickly settled in. She didn't have time to meet the others, she was too busy unpacking and trying to find work. Before I knew it, Kagome had sensed another jewel shard and we were on our way.

I know it's a dumb ending, but I don't care. It gets better from here.
