Shikamaru had stayed up all night coming up with a strategy to ensure that the fourth shinobi war doesn't happen.
The next morning the four began to set Shikamaru's plan in motion with slight alterations from Shikaoi and minor suggestions from Sasuke and Naruto.
Since that night after the mission in wave the four boys spent a lot of time training together much to the surprise of team 10, the Nara parents, and Kakashi sensei.
Both team seven and team ten were nominated by their senseis, and the four genin did their best to keep things relatively to the plot. Naruto stopped Kankuro from attacking Konohamuru, and Sasuke stepped in just like in the original timeline. The members of team seven encountering Garaa for the first time.
Kakashi was not at all surprised when all three of his genin had shown up for the chunin exams. In another life he would have had to teach a civilian fangirl; however, this was not that timeline.
Shikaoi glanced to where his brother was slouching lazily next to his team and their sensei, the twins' eyes meeting blue locking on brown, Shikamaru nodded towards his brother. Shikaoi smiled serenely back.
Breaking eye contact Shikaoi looks at Sasuke, then Naruto the other two boys smirk. Grabbing an arm each, the three slowly make their way to the exam. Naruto and Sasuke both reaching out with their free arms to push open the doors together ready to face whatever comes next — together.
