Chapter 3: Debriefing of the Events
Authors Note: in order for this story to work, I'm going to have both spider man 1 and 2 have natural webs and Spider-Man 3 to have web shooters.
Spider-Man 1 POV:
Genius: We need to talk ASAP.
That was the first thing I read as soon as my alarm went off at 7.
Agent: What's up?
Genius: Not like this. Meet me at my apartment at 4:00.
Me: How was patrol last night? Are you injured?
It was unusual for Genius to be texting us so early in the morning.
Genius: I'm not injured, but something did happen during last night's patrol. I'd rather not talk about it over the phone though. So I'll see you at 4.
Me: Ok
Agent: See you then.
I placed my phone down and got out of bed. Time to get ready for work, I thought. I went through my daily, morning routine. Unlike the other Spider-Men, I like to have my Spider-Man suit on me in case of an emergency. I grabbed my breakfast (an apple) and my camera and ran out the door.
I reached work by 8, and began working on my latest article.
Spider-Man 2 POV:
I was already up by the time Genius texted us. I was getting ready to head to the SHIELD headquarters for work. Unlike the other two, I don't bring my suit with me. This is due to the fact that I work for SHIELD, an agency with a lot of advanced security.
I was working on my laptop when Genius texted. After we had finished our conversation, I put down my phone, shut off my laptop and left for work.
I arrived at work, scanned my badge and went to my first meeting of the day. I made my way to the 5th floor, where all the shield scientists worked and held meetings.
Since I am a scientist, I am not often sent out on missions, but the occasional few will pop up here and there, including a few solo ones. There were multiple meeting rooms on the fifth floor and because it was the floor with the scientists on it, they tended to be the most used. As I walked to my meeting in the room at the end of the hallway, I bypassed the only meeting with tinted windows. This room is only used when super secret missions are being assigned. To an average person, it looks like a black window with no ability to see inside, but due to my enhanced senses, I am able to see through the tinted windows. And today, the room was in use. And while the room itself isn't soundproof, an average person wouldn't be able to hear anything either. However, due to my enhanced hearing, I was also able to hear the conversation currently going on. So, as I was walking past, I was pretty surprised when I saw Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, and Steve Rodgers in discussion with Maria Hill and Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"He got away," Tony Stark was saying.
"How is it that all four of you were there, and Spider-Man got away?" Nick Fury asked. At the mention of Spider-Man, I casually slowed down my pace in order to hear the rest of the conversation. Is this what Genius wanted to talk about?
"He dodged everything that we threw at him." Natasha responded.
"He even managed to stop a car crash, a mugging, and rescue a freaking cat in the time that were chasing him before he slipped away!" Clint exclaimed.
"Language." Steve Rodgers said.
"Now is not the time for that." Nastasha replied with a sigh.
"Well clearly he is far more skilled than you anticipated" Nick Fury started, "clearly trying the nice route wasn't successful. The avengers nodded in agreement.
"Do you know anything about Spider-Man that you can share with us in order for us to complete the mission?" Natasha asked.
"The only thing we know about Spider Man is that he usually patrols anytime between 5 pm and 1 am Monday through Thursday, and on Friday, he patrols between 4 pm and 3 am. Saturday, patrols periodically but frequently throughout the day until 3 am Sunday. Sunday follows Saturday's patrol, except he ends his patrol at 1 am." Maria Hill informed the group. "That's all we know."
So we'll use that to assist us as well today. We'll have F.R.I.D.A.Y inform us, but at the same time we too, will be out on patrol looking for Spider-Man in the times you told us about. Does that sound okay to everyone?" Natasha asked. Everyone agreed.
"And this time no more Mr. Nice Guy!" Fury said, "use force, that should wield better results."
I was able to hear the entire conversation, as I was tuned to it, by the time I reached the doors to the meeting room that I was supposed to be in. Oh boy, I thought, we now have the avengers after us. Let me see if I can hack into S.H.I.E.L.D or maybe I can ask Genius to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D (seeing as he is the hacking wizard of the group) to see if there are cameras in the tinted room and get the footage of the angers meeting with Nick Fury. And considering the topic of conversation was about the events that occurred during his patrol last night, there was no doubt in my mind that this is what he wanted to talk to us about. But what did they want from Spider-Man (seeing as not even Nick Fury knew that there were three of them)?
The day dragged by slowly, but eventually, it was time to leave for the day. I packed up my computer, cleaned up my station, and headed out of S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. I quickly made my way over to Genius's apartment.
Spider-Man 1 POV:
I wrapped up my work by 3 and headed out of the Daily Bugle headquarters. I had an hour to kill, so I decided to patrol a little but before heading over to Genius's apartment. I was able to stop 2 car crashes and an armed robbery at a small business by the time 4 pm showed up and it was time for me to head over to the apartment.
I knocked on the window as soon as I got there, before letting myself in. Genius was already there working on his homework, but Agent hadn't arrived yet. Two minutes later he arrived, and so the meeting began.
"The avengers are after us." Agent and Genius said.
"What!" I exclaimed, as Genius said, "Wait, how did you know that?"
"Fury, Hill, Stark, Rodgers, Romanoff, and Barton were in the tinted room, discussing their encounter with you during your patrol." He replied.
"Was that all they talked about, or was there more?" Genius asked.
"There was more, and while I could give you a full rundown of it, it's better that you see it. Do you think you'll be able to hack into S.H.I.E.L.D security, so you both can watch it?" I responded.
"Sure, give me a few seconds." He said before turning to his computer, where began typing away. About 30 minutes later (I have no clue how hacking works or how long it typically takes, so I'm just putting a random amount of time), I got the footage he said. And so we gathered around the computer in order to watch the encounter play out. Once the video was complete, I asked Genius, "do you know what they want, that the only thing that wasn't mentioned during the conversation?"
"They want Spider-Man's identity," he said quietly. "And clearly, now they are going to be using force and any means necessary in order to figure that out. But, there's one advantage, and that's the fact that they don't know that there's three of us, so we are going to have to use that to our advantage. But we need to plan. They're going to be keeping a close eye on the movements of the city, but we can't stop being Spider-Man, New York needs us." He finished.
"Agreed, brother." I said. "So what should we do?"
