3; muggings
There are two of them, and they want his money. He's no stranger to crime, of course, but they're unusually large and there are quite a few people around. A riot would insure if he were to kill anyone.
They both have guns.
He makes to pull out his wallet, but pulls out his gun instead. It takes two bullets to kill them, one bullet per person. The locals stand in silent amazement as he runs desperately to a less-crowded area.
He sheds his jacket and rubs dirt on his face to make it look less recognizable.
This just may have been his biggest mistake ever.
