5; perchance to dream

He doesn't know how long he's been here. He came into it with every intention of counting the days, but there's no light in his cell and no one will tell him whether it's day or night. So, he's stuck wondering and trying to think up remedies of his now thought-consuming ennui.

Sometimes, he talks to himself.

And he whispers of daring escapades and deep, dark secrets and splinter cell? What does that mean? The guards spend hours listening to him, and wonder.

And tomorrow, he will escape. Tomorrow, the lights will come on and the sounds will come back and so will his strength. Tomorrow, everything will be different.

He wonders if tomorrow will ever come.

The End
