Disclaimer: The characters don't belong to me, they're JKR's, but I wish they were mine! I could handle living in that huge house, with that much money and…. Drifts into fantasy land…
A/N:This is the last of this series of one-shots, thanks so much for reading and reviewing it!
The Gryffindor common room was silent, allowing the exception of two roaring seventh years, a flaming red head with an equally red face, and a frazzled bushy haired girl standing inches from each other, screeching in the other's face…
"There is absolutely no way I am letting you do that Ronald. No! Don't try and give me that begging face, it's not going to work."
"But, come on Hermione! I'm doing it because I need more time! You know that I haven't done homework because of Quidditch, I need you to make this excuse work!"
"You, Ron Weasley, have had plenty of time to do your homework! You just spend so much time playing chess with Harry staring around the common room and getting detention for being an arrogant PRAT that you've wasted it all!"
"The only way I can possibly pass transfiguration is if we say that I've had too many prefect duties to complete the essay… please 'Mione! You don't want me to fail, if you did you wouldn't check my work!"
"I'll check your work for you, but I won't lie for you because you deliberately wasted your time. Playing chess and staring, honestly Ron, what did you think I was going to say?"
"If you knew WHY I was staring then maybe you'd be a bit more helpful."
"I don't care at all about why you were staring. I do care about the fact that at the moment you are asking me to break several school rules, lie to a teacher and then help you with your homework!"
"Hermione, do you enjoy making my life miserable? We both know you're the more organised responsible one, can't you understand that I really really need to do this essay! If I don't pass I'll never be an auror."
"Well, that will be your own fault, wont it?
"I can't believe you can be so bloody harsh!"
"It's for your own good Ron! I should have been this hard on you years ago…"
"I'm glad you weren't! Then I would have had SEVEN entirely miserable years because you never want to help me out!"
"That's not true, Ronald… and yes I will call you that no matter how many times you pull that ridiculous face at me… I have always, ALWAYS checked your work for you, and given you my notes, I just refuse to break anymore school rules because of your poor study habits!"
"I've just been so distracted this year, 'Mione, that I can't help I've haven't done much work."
"Chess and staring are your major distractions? That's ridiculous Ron, you can stare into space any other time."
"No I can't."
"Yes, you can!"
"No I can't!"
"What, there isn't a blank space to stare at while you're eating breakfast? You're being silly Ron."
"Has the thought that I might be staring at something crossed your mind? Or are you too busy being angry with me to think about something like that?"
"Of course it crossed my mind, Ronald, but still, you should be able to ignore something like that and do your homework."
"I can't ignore you."
"Pardon, Ron?"
"D-don't worry about it."
"Well, you're ignoring me right now telling you I refuse to help you."
"That's NOT what I meant!"
"Are you going to tell me what you did mean?"
"No."
"Well, that just means I can assume what you've been doing Ron. You've been carelessly staring into space, but in actual fact you've been reading my homework!"
"Hermione, I think right now you're being thicker than I am..."
"Don't call me thick! That's exactly what you've been doing! I knew it! I'll just do my homework on the other side of the common room!"
"Oh please, don't do that 'Mione!"
"Well, are you going to stop cheating?"
"I already TOLD you that I wasn't cheating."
"But you said you couldn't ignore me, that can't possibly mean anything else, unless…. No but that's preposterous!"
"What is?"
"That, you, Ron Weasley, could be spending your homework time staring at me, but that's just stupid."
"Why's that stupid, 'Mione?"
"Because that would mean that you enjoy staring at me, and you would never like me in that way."
"That's what you think…"
"Pardon?"
"What if I have been staring at you?"
"Well, Ron, that means I can't possibly be angry with you."
"Then I think you better stop shouting."
"What?"
"Well, erm, I have been staring at you Hermione."
"Y-you you can't have been! I would have noticed something like that!"
"No you wouldn't. I've been staring at you ever since fourth year."
"Bu- but, it's impossible, you, can't, well, like me, I'm, you, YOU HATE ME!"
"I do not hate you Hermione."
"But, we fight so much Ron! I just assumed you'd never feel that way, I can't say I haven't been hoping…."
"You've been hoping? Hoping for what?"
"Oh never mind, Ron. Now you're the one who's being thick."
"I am NOT thick!"
"Yes you are! I nearly, well, I nearly told you! And you didn't even notice!"
"Yes, I did, Hermione."
"So, you understand, that I, well, that I could have been hoping that you might have some, feelings?"
"Yep. I understand."
"Well Ron?"
"Are you going to stop yelling at me now?"
"Yes Ron."
"I, er, want to tell you something, but I-I just can't do it, if it doesn't work…"
"I think it will work, Ron."
"Are you sure?"
"Please just say it, we've just been lingering on this topic for so long."
"It's, well, I've been feeling something 'Mione"
"Do you really do mean that Ron?"
"Yeah I do"
"What are you feeling?"
"That I can't, well, stop thinking about you. That you're just, so beautiful, and I wish I could hold you whenever I want… which is all the time."
"Really Ron?"
"Er, yeah…"
"That was so wonderful…"
"I'm quite in love with you 'Mione."
"I love you too Ron."
"Mmmm, will you help me get an extension now Hermione?"
"Oh, Ron…"
The kiss that followed was one that caused the entire Gryffindor common room to erupt in cheers.
