I got this cd from a friend and I realized that this song would make for a perfect songfic for the two. Hermione sees Ginny as a little girl, even though the two are grown up. Ginny loves Hermione and wants nothing more than to be with her, but doesn't want to her see her as that girl she once was. I hope you like this, I'm pretty happy with this piece.
Song : Asking You by Lennon Murphy
CD : 5:30 Saturday Morning
I urge you to go and buy the cd, it's awesome! Anyway, on with the story.
Why can't she just say that she loves me? Ginny thinks that Hermione has some serious issues with Ginny being only a year younger than her, but this is causing problems with the both of them.
Walk down that hall, take me to that room shut the door
And close the lights too Turn on the radio, take off that TV, sit me down
And speak real softly
Hermione sits across from her like she has so many times before, and tries to explain to Ginny why she cannot love her.
I'll pay my attentions to things you don't say
I'll turn them this way and I'll turn them the other way
Ginny watches her, pays attention to her body language, she's lying. Always has. She was a terrible liar. Hermione watches Ginny for a bit, sighs and turns her head.
And I'm asking you is this how you want me
To be anything you want me to be
And I'm asking you is this how you see me
Some little girl kissing your cheek
Hermione gives in, always does, never fails, and it doesn't matter to Ginny that it's not really love. Afterwards, Hermione gets up and leaves the room, only to pour herself a drink, which later gets thrown against the wall. She'd have to clean that up later.
As the sun begins to rise, it cuts through the glass
And it burns my flesh with every lash
I look at myself as others see myself
And I don't understand how this is myself
Walk down that hall, take to that room, shut the door
And close those lights too
It starts again the next week, same moves, same questions, same answers, same conclusions. Hermione touches her cheek, except, this time, it's different,"I can't do this anymore. It's not right, for neither of us. I'm dragging you along." she says, still touching her cheek.
I stand up and walk out the door.
I'm walking down the stairs to leave
And out of the dark her eyes catch me
You're looking at me like you expect to see
Something there that I can't be
And I'm asking you to let me walk away this time 'Cause I can't be her anymore
Ginny knows that it's not truly over, every couple of months she does this. Tries to pretend like she doesn't have feelings for her. Pretends like she's completely over her.
Ginny, however is done. She's tired of being Hermione's "little girl", tired of being something she's not just for the sake of her. Ginny is tired of being 'her'.
And I'm asking you is this how you want me
To be anything you want me to be
And I'm asking you is this how you see me
Some little girl kissing your cheek
Ginny gives in, comes back to her, and it starts again. Ginny is that little girl.
