The One Where Dreams Have No End

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine as I am not fortunate enough to own the Friends characters and whatnot.

Author's Note: Takes place three years after the finale. Ross and Rachel are married. Deal with it.

Ross Geller awoke with a large smile in his face. He could tell that this particular Sunday was going to be great. He did not know how he knew, he just knew. Perhaps it was something he had gotten from Phoebe. He smiled as he looked down at his wife. Rachel was just lying there, peacefully sleeping with her head on his pillow.

Rachel Green-Geller awoke moments later. She rested her head against Ross's t-shirt covered chest. "Morning," she whispered fondly.

"And to you, Sunshine," Ross said with the same amount of affection. He gently kissed Rachel's forehead. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and the two of them lay in the bed, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Four-year-old Emma Geller interrupted her parents' happiness by bursting through the large, wooden door.

"Did we really leave that unlocked last night?" Rachel asked in shock and horror as she glanced up at Ross.

Ross shrugged. "Oh well." He smiled, looking over at his beautiful daughter. The girl was still dressed in her pajamas and her once neat braids were quite sloppy, but she was still more adorable than he could imagine. "What's up?" he asked curiously as he made room for her on the bed.

"It's here!" Emma announced as she waved the Science section of The New York Times in front of her parents' face. "It's finally here! The Daddy article!"

"Let me see that," Ross said as he reached for the newspaper. The article was about his promotion at the university. He recalled the interview. It was over coffee at Central Perk. Rachel and Emma were at the park at the time. At the time of the interview, he did not know when it would be printed. Sometime within the week, hopefully, but the reporter honestly did not know.

Rachel shook her head in protest. "No, I want to see it. You already know what's in it!" she argued as she reached for the paper.

"Not uh!" Ross said as he scanned the article. "This is much longer than a fifteen minute interview. They put extra stuff about me."

"I wanna see the picture of Daddy!" Emma argued as she squeezed in between her two parents.

"You know," Ross began as he grabbed the paper. "I could just read it to you girls," he said with a smile.

Emma and Rachel glanced at each other for a second. Emma shrugged, not really caring. All she wanted was to see the picture. "Over breakfast," Rachel said as she reached for her robe. She pulled it over herself then pushed herself out of the bed. "You want pancakes?" she asked her daughter.

"Yea!" Emma yelled as she leapt from the bed. "With lots of syrup! And you haveta stack the pancakes or else I won't eat them!" she declared.

"Oh, and guess what?" Rachel said. She looked down at Emma, but Ross could tell that he would also be able to guess.

"What?" Emma asked excitedly.

"Guess who's coming to visit?" Rachel asked.

"Cousin Erica? Really?" Emma asked as she bounced with excitement. "And cousin Jack, Aunt Monica, Uncle Chandler?"

Rachel smiled as she nodded at Emma. "Why don't you get dressed? They'll be here soon," she said as Emma scurried away.

"How soon?" Ross asked curiously as he put the newspaper down. He glanced down at his own wardrobe, figuring he should get dressed as well.

Rachel smiled as she closed the door to their bedroom and began changing. "Hopefully really soon. I can't make pancakes."
