"I see a smile..."
I teased my partner as I walked out of the lab and fell into stride with Stella Bonasera.
My attention wandered from the technobabble that spilled from her lips with ease and focused on the action that seduced me, unknowingly.
Her smile.
The smile that made her face light up. The one that made the corners of her eyes crinkle up with amusement. The simple motion that brightened even the dullest of my days. The secret grin that the mysterious Mona Lisa couldn't hold a candle to. The little upwards turns of her lips that seemed to tease me mercilessly. The small quirk that made me want her every time I saw it. The way she laughed afterwards, like the sound of water to a man in the scorching desert.
The smile that made me fall in love with her all over again.
