Well, this isn't a very long chapter, I know, but…this basically introduces our little Tsuki Mudo. I hope Momiji's in character…if he's not, you'll tell me, right?
Chapter 1
"Momiji! Hurry up, we're gonna be late!" Haru called, running out the door and into the huge Sohma garden. "I'm going ahead!"
"No!" Momiji
called. "I'm coming! See! I'm right behind…Oh! A bunny! Hey
there, little guy!" he said, squatting down before the brown rabbit
and scratching him behind the ear. "My name's Momiji! You may not
know it, but I'm a rabbit too!"
"Momiji, you're
forgetting something," Hatori said, stepping onto the porch.
"What's that?" Momiji asked.
"School."
"AHH! HARU WAIT! I'M RIGHT BEHIND YOU, I SWEAR!" he shouted after the long gone Hatsuharu.
He streaked down the sidewalk, barley paying attention to the pavement in front of him. As he rounded the corner…
"OWW! Watch it, you no good little…" a girl muttered.
"Sorry!" Momiji apologized, leaping up and running past her.
"WAIT!"
Momiji snapped around. "What happened?!"
The girl walked up to him. "It seems we're in the same school," she said, looking at his uniform. "It also seems that I'm lost. Which way's school?"
Momiji grabbed her wrist. "WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!" he shouted, plowing through the morning crowd.
They threw open the door to the class room just as the bell rang, breathless.
"By the way," the girl said, "I'm Mudo. Tsuki Mudo."
"Momiji," he panted, dragging his feet over to his desk. "Haru, you didn't wait!" he wined.
"Of course I didn't! If I had waited…ah forget it!" Haru mumbled, crossing his arms and putting his boots up on his desk.
"Can I sit here?" Tsuki asked, putting her bag down on the desk next to Momiji's.
"Of course!" he said happily.
Tsuki tied back her long black hair and wrapped her hands in gauze. This was it. She would finally be able to complete what her grandfather had started so many years ago. After so many years of endless searching, she could not fail.
"Hiiiiyyyyaaa!" she shouted, throwing a punch at the maroon-colored punching bag.
"Why do you have to scream?"
She whirled around. "Momiji!"
Momiji hopped inside the dojo and smiled. "Can you teach me karate? I've always wanted to learn. My cousins all know how to, but I can't. I think I can be really good, though! I'm a fast learner and I already know how to punch! See!" He demonstrated by punching the air and laughed. "I've got a pretty good hand at pain, too! Kyo's always hurting me, so I'm used to it!"
Tsuki laughed.
"Calm down, tiger! Okay, I'll teach you! It should be fun!"
"YEAH!" he exclaimed running up next to her. "I'm a bunny, by the way," he said.
"Pardon?"
"You called me a tiger. Kisa's the tiger, not me. I'm the bunny! I'm much cuter!"
Tsuki laughed. "Alright, Rabbit. Let's start, shall we?"
Momiji nodded eagerly. "Let's do it!" he said confidently, punching the air again. "Hiiiyyyyaaaa!"
"First thing's first. When you punch, pull your other fist in towards your body…like this," she said, punching the air. Her right arm shot out in front of her and her left arm was tucked under her bust, protecting her ribs. "Try it."
Momiji threw out a sloppy punch.
"Again," Tsuki ordered. "With the left arm this time."
He repeated, the second punch even more pitiful than the first.
Tsuki laughed. "You'll get it eventually. One more time."
"No way," Momiji said, dropping to the floor. "I give up. It's too hard."
"MOMIJI SOHMA!" Tsuki shouted.
Startled, Momiji jumped up.
"I do not allow that kind of talk in my dojo! Now, AGAIN! ONE…TWO…THREE…"
And so it continued.
