Summary: Angel has regrets.
Angel cried himself to sleep for the very first time in over two hundred years. All the other times had been because of his father.
This time it was because of the man he loved.
The man who had died to save his life.
The man who had helped him so much in the past.
The man he hadn't told how much he loved him.
The man he thought of every, single second of every, single day.
The man he couldn't help even as he wanted to.
The man for whom his body still ached.
Angel's mind was full of these thoughts as his senses tried to resurrect scent and touch through memory.
His deepest regret was that he'd been too much of a coward to say something before it was too late. Four simple words that would have been so important to them both, and yet Angel had been unable to say them.
Just four words.
"I love you, Doyle."
