But people wouldn't fear him for such a paltry reason as why they feared his Uncle. Not because of potential problems with their finances that he could cause. No, they would fear him because of his power. The way they feared his ancestors, the way his bloodline had been feared through the generations. His great-grandfather for instance. Second hand man to Grindenwald he was. He once took out 10 aurors single handedly one night.

But many in his family had forgotten the glory they once had. They had become almost... iGryffindorish/i. They had forgotten the calling of the lust for power. Especially his father, the very worst of the lot. In a way he hated calling him that. He was no longer the father he had known as a young child. No longer cruel and cunning, a perfect Slytherin, but now soft and weak. He knew his father had changed. He had changed ever since the day he married iher/i. He refused to call her family, although she had mothered two of his brothers. They were weak as well. But no one so weak as his father. His father had applauded his sister becoming a Hufflepuff. He even invited some of her friends for the holidays. But the worst was when he sent his room, saying that the terms 'blood-traitor' and 'mudblood' were no longer allowed in the house.

That was the day Evan knew he had to take action to redeem his family. He owled his relatives on his mother's side. They had proper wizarding pride still, and secretly took him to shopping one day when he was nine. They took him for a wand, beginner's spellbooks, as well as some questionable books from Borgin and Bukes. And so Evan trained, in secret, in the dead of night. He trained for the day when he could bring honor back to name Rosier. Someday, someday…
