Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)

Tim "Speed" Speedle is in Boston attending a conference without his wife Calleigh and he misses her.

Disclaimer: I don't own Speed, Calleigh and Horatio. I don't even own the song 'Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)", that is property of A Flock of Seagulls.

Tim entered his hotel room. It was the second day of a four day forensics conference that he was attending. He had just given a talk about trace evidence to a room of mostly CSI level ones and those who are fascinated with the subject. Right now, he was exhausted and lonely. Calleigh couldn't attend since Horatio needed her for a taxing murder investigation. Tim turned on the television, but that didn't ease his loneliness. All he could think about was his beautiful pregnant petite blonde wife. He forgot to take a picture of her with him on the trip.

It's not the way you look,
It's not the way that you smile.
Although there's something to them.
It's not the way you have your hair,
It's not that certain style;
It could be that with you.
If I had a photograph of you,
It's something to remind me.
I wouldn't spend my life just wishing
.

He wanted to sleep, but that lasted fifteen minutes before he woke up and got out of bed. He stared out the window and saw a young couple holding each other walking down the street. Tears were streaming down his face. He wanted to have Calleigh with him and be happy.

Oh, why Horatio needed her for that investigation, Tim thought. She should have been with me attending this conference. She would have been great giving a talk about ballistics.

It's not the make-up
And it's not the way that you dance,
It's not the evening sky.
It's more the way your eyes
are laughing as they glance
Across the great divide.
If I had a photograph of you,
It's something to remind me.
I wouldn't spend my life just wishing.

Tim made some decaffeinated coffee and drank two cups of it. He spent a good part of the hour sitting on the bed and doing nothing. He got up and thought about what he wanted to do next.

It's not the things you say
It's not the things you do
It must be something more
And if I feel this way for so long
Tell me is it all for nothing
Just don't walk out the door.

If I had a photograph of you,
It's something to remind me.
I wouldn't spend my life just wishing

He took out his cell phone and called home. Nobody answered and he forgot Calleigh had her weekly 'Girls Night Out' with her friends.

"Hey beautiful, it's me, your handsome husband and father of our future baby," he said to the voice mail. "I just wanted to call to say I love you and I miss you terribly. I will be home in two days. I wish you were here with me. I will talk to you later, bye."

After he hung up, he went to bed and fell asleep. He was dreaming of the day when he and Calleigh would be happily reunited.
