Yo yo yo youngin's. Anyway, this fic is my personal fav out of many I've written. It took me about 10 minutes but I love it anyway. I hope you do too. It can be a bit depressing though, so keep Kleenex close by.
Also, a note for the anti-YAOI people. This fic isn't extreme, and is dangerously light. Unless you're one of those extremely innocent catholic schoolgirls, I'm sure you can handle it. It's not something to worry about. Just to let you know. It won't spoil this depressing tale for you. Anyway, please enjoy. Tell me if you cry!

PAIN
Toboe sighed as he looked out at the crescent moon. It was a beautiful and clear night, one unlike many others. But although the sky was clear, Toboe's thoughts were not.
He was plagued with the constant image of Tsume. A while ago, Toboe figured out he was in love with the gray wolf. Toboe wanted to tell him how he felt; he wanted to tell his badly as well. He wanted to hear Tsume say yes; and then he could be so happy… But Toboe knew that was an illusion, it could never happen. Toboe caught a familiar scent on the wind, and shivered as he realized who it was.
"It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" Tsume asked him, while walking up from behind. It wasn't normal for Tsume to act like this, especially around Toboe. Of course Toboe wasn't going to pester him about it. Maybe something good had happened to him.
Toboe nodded in response, not wanting to spend too much time with Tsume, since it brought out reactions Toboe didn't feel comfortable with. "Something's on your mind, what is it?" Tsume asked him. Toboe felt his heart in his throat.
Toboe knew now he was trapped. Tsume would know if he was lying or not. Toboe knew the truth had to come out. Since Toboe was an optimist, he figured that at least it would be over with.
"Tsume I love you…" Toboe blurted out. He hadn't meant to say it. He could almost sense Tsume's answer.
"I don't…" Tsume said slowly. He didn't want to break the small boy's heart, but it was too late for that. He saw Toboe's eyes welling up with tears, and felt his heart shatter as well. He didn't love the boy, but didn't want to hurt him. He knew he would have to cheer him up, and he wouldn't have to work so hard, since Toboe was a naturally happy person. After a minute of thinking, Tsume knew exactly what to say.
"Toboe…" Tsume started. Toboe looked at him, his eyes clouded with tears. "I do have some good news though…" Tsume finished.
"What is it? Are you in love with someone else?" Toboe asked, choking on his last words.
"No…" Tsume said quietly. He turned his head up to the moon, smiling vaguely.
"I just saved a whole lot of money by switching my car insurance to Geiko."

WTF was that?! No seriously, who put crack in my honey nut cheerios this morning? Damn, someone just shoot me now. Oh well, I'm usually one for surprising endings. No flames please! Just a review would be nice. Constructive criticism is welcome, even though there's probably not much to say for this one…
