This is a little drabble about Aredhel, sister of Turgon.
Ar-Feiniel
So pale; so fair; so beautiful…
She seems so fragile.
And yet, she roams these woods fearlessly.
She is a Noldo; that alone should be enough for me to hate her.
But I cannot.
She is enmeshed here in Nan Elmoth, surrounded by shadow. And still she seems to shine, like the stars in the night sky.
I have shunned the light, yet I am drawn to her…
I have heard them call for her, outside the webs of Nan Elmoth. Ar-Feiniel. That is her name. But they will never find her.
As I will have her for my own.
Note: Ar-Feiniel was the name given to Aredhel. It means 'White Lady of the Noldor'. I think it is Quenya. Logically speaking it should be, since the Noldor in Valinor spoke Quenya. Here, I felt that those looking for Aredhel would not call her by her proper name, and Eol would assume that Ar-Feiniel was her name, since he, being a Teler, would have no knowledge of Quenya.
