Undying Love

Disclaimer: I do not own Haku and Zabuza! -sob- I wish I could though! They make the cutest couple!

Warning: Yaoi. And that, for those of you who don't know, means boy x boy love. Don't flame me if you don't like that; 'cause you've been warned.

One-shot. My very first Haku/Zabuza fanfic! Yay!

This Story is dedicated to Kima; the best Haku RPer that I've ever seen. You go girl!!! Also, thisis a very belated Christmas Present to her... -sweatdrop-

-------------------

"Zabuza-san!"

A cheerful voice called from the cabin situated in the middle of a semi-forested clearing. The man who was being called for, his face covered in wrappings; as if he had something to hide from the world, sighed.

Waving at him, a young man about the age of sixteen stood on the outside of the cabin waiting. From first glance, many had before mistaken him for a girl; with his long hair worn into a bun and his rather comfortable-looking kimonos.

"Haku. Get back inside. There are hunter-nins out and about."

The one known as Haku's face fell, and he almost sulkily trudged back into the cabin. The other missing-nin looked around the area one final time, and, seeing no signs that he'd been followed, he went after Haku.

"Zabuza-san…sir…"

One dark eye flickered to Haku, who was seated at a low table.

"I made dinner while you were meeting with Gatou…"

Zabuza grunted noncommently, and knelt down beside the table. He eyed the food, and finally spoke since returning.

"You forsook going to meet Gatou to cook?"

"We haven't had a good meal for a while. I thought that you'd like one for once…"

"Hn."

Taking the wrappings off his face, Zabuza placed them to the side. Dinner went by without really any conversation-that was something far from Zabuza's forte and that was hoe things always worked with the older missing-nin.

Later that night

A full moon loomed huge in the background. Zabuza had seated himself on the roof of the cabin, eyes scanning the forested area surrounding the cabin while his hands automatically cleaned off a bloody kunai. He was alert to any sound; any hint of danger that might once again cause another battle for the missing-nins. So he wasn't taken by surprise when Haku came outside looking for him.

"Zabuza-san?"

"Go to bed Haku. I've got watch tonight. You know we've got a job to complete tomorrow."

Zabuza said, not even looking at his young companion.

"I…I have something that I need to tell you…"

Haku stuttered as he looked up at his 'master'. A tool-himself-should never say what he was about to say…but…if not today, then Haku got the feeling that he'd never ever get another chance.

"What?"

Haku took a deep breath, and then smiled; pure and innocent, at Zabuza.

"I…I love…I love you…Zabuza-san…"

………and that is something that not even death could ever change………

End Notes: -is happy with the results- I'm glad; this little story came out better than I expected! –laughs- I'll leave it to you reviewers' imaginations what happened after Haku said that. Oh, and hopefully you know what I'm talking about when I mentioned Gatou.
