The Diary

"Please Hermione! Come on! You don't want me to fail Charms do you? Pretty please?" egged on Harry.

"Fine!' Hermione snapped. 'Let me go get them.'

She stomped up the stairs to her dormitory. If Harry thinks he can just borrow my Charm notes any time he wants he's got another thing coming. Hermione thought. Why can't he take his own! AHH!

But still she went upstairs to her room. Upon entering her room she realized that it was empty. Storming over to her bed she grabbed her book bag that was beside her nightstand. Setting it on the bed she yanked it open. Fear flooded her, they weren't there.

If anyone had entered the room at that moment they would have thought a tornado had blown through there. Books, clothing, personal items, were strewn all over the room. Hermione looked everywhere. Finally, she yanked open her nightstand, not there, so she closed it a proceeded. She made her way to the second drawer. Hermione opened it and started digging through it. She reached to the very back (it was magic cause it deeper than it normally should be) and started feeling for anything.

Suddenly she heard a small 'click.'

"What's this?" thought Hermione.

The bottom of the drawer had popped up to reveal a false bottom. Lifting it up she saw a book lying in a inch of dust. Next to it was a long slender box. She picked both of them up and dusted them off. The book was a white leather color with a beautiful painting of a lily on it. She turned it on its side and saw that there was a lock on it. "Darn!" She tried to see if maybe she could pry it open but only received a small zap to her fingers. It was obviously magical. She set it down on the bed and opened the box. Inside was beautiful gold necklace. There was a small pendant on it; a lily. She picked up the book again and looked at the lock. It was a strangely shaped lock. It looked like the key was a certain shape not a key.

Suddenly excitement filled her. She slowly put the gold lily necklace into the strangely shaped lock. It fit perfectly. After a second the lock 'clicked.'

Extremely excited Hermione pried open the old pages.
