I sit and rememeber when my life was full of fear.
Of the things that happened I can see them so clear.
They marred my once innocent soul inside.
For they took me on the darkest ride.
The child with believeing eyes.
They told me naught but lies.
There I was left upon the road.
Where it led no one knows.
Promises of forever they claimed.
Yet they left as fast as the pouring rain.
Then a stranger reached out his hand.
And took me away from the darkened land.
A smile he wore upon his face.
And all the dark images were erased.
All my inner fears were washed away.
As I stepped into heaven today.
Mommy, daddy cry for me no more.
I am waiting for you here at heaven's door.
