Teenagerliebe

"She's pretty," Schrödinger sighed dreamily.

"Who?" Doc wondered. "Rip or – Heaven forbid! – Zorin?"

"No," Schrödinger shook his head. "I'm talking about Seras. Seras Victoria from Hellsing. Remember her? The smaller one, with short blonde hair…"

"Yeah," Doc nodded. "And what part of her do you find so irresistible, may I ask?"

"Bust," Schrödinger replied rather flatly.

"That's shallow, young man," Doc frowned and pinched Schrödinger's ear lightly. "You're supposed to admire the girl's soul, not her… body parts."

"Her soul?" Schrödinger snorted. "Yeah, right. And her boyfriend's soul, too."

It took Doc a couple of minutes to understand the problem.

My Best Friend

"We're leaving tomorrow."

"Oh?" Schrödinger gave Rip a curious look. "Then how about we go out for a drink?"

"You and I?" she laughed wholeheartedly. "Why, all of a sudden? And besides, are you allowed to drink, little one?"

"Don't underestimate me, I have my ways to get a drink when I want to," he winked. "And I'd really like to go with you – because, you know, what if you don't come back from England and I… lose my chance?"

"Jeez, aren't you optimistic!" she exclaimed.

"It's not about being optimistic or pessimistic, I just… care about you," he responded.

"You don't care about anyone, dearie," Rip said and ruffled his hair playfully. "No matter what you say, you're about as sensitive as my umbrella, warrant officer Schrödinger."

He shrugged. "Well, you're entitled to your own opinion, who am I to question it? But even though you're so skeptical about my feelings… maybe you'll join me if I mention Karlsberg-Bier?"

"That's a point," she murmured thoughtfully. "After all, Karlsberg-Bier IS Karlsberg-Bier… Alright," she decided. "Let's pretend that you're my best friend. Just for tonight and just because beer unites people. It won't hurt anyone."

He took her hand and smiled.
