Naruto
Disclaimer: This poem is inspired by the great series, Naruto, which is owned by Kishimoto Masashi. I do not own any of the characters and anything related to Naruto. Just borrowing Sasuke for this fic/poem.
A/N: This is my first Naruto fic. Just so you know, it's Sasuke's point of view. The thoughts in each stanza shifts but all in all, they're all just how Sasuke thinks about them. Anyway, here it is!
Haunting Me
As I stare at the starless sky
With the mystic moon up so high
The terror of that day haunts me
As frightening as it could be
The blood and fear never left my memory
Dread, anger, hatred--the black tragedy
Always makes my soul quenching for vengeance
Till our battle--my reason for existence
My life, full of silent sorrow and regret
That them I was not able to protect
Now I live with only a thing in mind--
to gain power till satisfaction I find
If the evil fruit is what I need
All the hesitations I will not heed
Even if I have to leave all the happiness
Even if I have to sacrifice my friends
He tried to warn me, but it was futile
He tried to stop me, but him I ought to kill
Betrayal, indeed, is what I've done
But why is he still fighting when now I've gone?
I wanted to stay, but the truth hurts--
I don't belong to where they are
Destiny has its way to pull me back
That to me they seem to be so far
To lead a life with a heavy burden
To reject the kindness given to me
To leave my dearest friends
All these--forsaken for your defeat
Is the path I took the one for me?
That those I cherish are now my foes
The day of my return is coming near
What will happen, we'll never know
