Year: 2552, Day: unknown, Month: unknown. If Cortanna was with me I would have the pleasure of knowing how long I have been fighting for. But then again, I know I've fought enough to hopefully make an impact in this war. I am still keeping my log up-to-date, though I haven't had much time recently, this slipspace jump will provide me enough time.

Once we reached Earth orbit, we went our separate ways. I joined Johnson on the orbital defense platform Cairo, and the other spartans went to different platforms. The marines needed a moral boost, and the best they had was to see the legendary spartans. I just hope they never see them die, for all our sakes. The first thing I did was fully upgrade my MJOLNIR battle suit and have Cortanna uplinked into the Cairo's systems.

Briefly after an award ceremony, the covenant began their onslaught. I proceeded to repel the enemy until I found that they had planted a warhead strong enough to blow the station to bits and then some. I had to fight through boarding parties before disabling the bomb with Cortanna's help milliseconds before detonation. I felt I had to return a favor and generously 'gave them back their bomb'.

I landed on Earth a few hours later to help the marines any way I could. There were already enough dead heroes. Shortly after boarding a pelican to reach an outpost, a scarab shot us out of the sky. Several hours later I caught up to it and boarded the vessel. The elites guarding whoever was piloting the monstrosity were extremely adept. I had a difficult time killing them. Once I managed to enter the scarab's interior, there were two pilots. I was hoping they were engineers or some other non-hostile alien, but they were just two more extremely adept elites. I had to take them out or they would have had my head.

Later, I was with Keyes' daughter in hot pursuit of a covenant warship. I still had a mission I had to accomplish: capture a prophet to force negotiations. It turned out that I was not going to be able to take him alive. Killing him would not make this war any easier. It would only lead to more bloodshed. More hatred. More grudges between beings who have never met. Another 'just cause' in this holy war against us.

I wish Cortanna was with me. She's back on the Ascendant Justice. God knows what happened to her. I know she's only an A.I., but, I...

I have to end this war. There are enough dead heroes. I hope the other spartans are still alive.

Hope, that's the bloodlife of humanity now. We face impossible odds, and hope is all we have. Hope to live and fight another day.
