The Marriage of our Savior
"Nice rock, Ron," Harry said admiringly.
"Thanks to you. I'd have never been able to afford it without your loan," Ron admitted.
"When are you going to ask her?"
"After we graduate."
"Nice thought. If she says no at least you'll be surrounded by friends."
"I hope she says yes, if she doesn't I doubt I will be able to move on."
Harry scowled, "Have you been reading that romance drivel again?"
"Its not "drivel.", besides 'Mione likes it."
"You'll sacrifice anything for your "fiancé to be" won't you? I mean you gave up your life savings, your firm beliefs against spew, and that last shred of dignity that you've been saving, and saving, and saving."
"Number one if she says no, I can get my savings back, number two it's S.P.E.W. and number three I won't give up the last of my dignity if she says yes."
"Okay, okay, lover boy. Have you found a flat?"
"Thanks to your other loan, yes."
Harry smirked, "Maybe you two can share our wedding day."
Ron whipped around to face Harry, who was holding an even bigger diamond ring, "Who is "our"?"
"As soon as she says yes, your sister."
Ron started to flush. Luckily for Harry, he did manage to control his anger, but his voice was still cracked, "When did you plan to tell me?"
Harry checked his watch, "In about…um…four minutes."
Ron started pacing, a sure sign of anger. Then he looked Harry straight in the eye and said, "Harry, I'm glad it's you."
"Thanks, I think."
"Come on, we still need to get dressed."
"Yeah."
Then Hermione walked in the door, "Are you two ready yet?"
"Sure Hermione, but I need to ask you something," Harry showed her the diamond ring, "Do you think Ginny will like it?" This is the big test, I haven't had a girl look at it yet.
"Oh Harry, she'll love it!" Hermione gushed.
Thank God! Harry thought.
"Come on, we need to get to the lake," Ron said, heading for the door.
"Congratulations, you have graduated," Dumbledore said, keeping his speech to four words.
A huge cheer came from the students assembled in front the lake.
Harry searched the crowd for Ginny. Spotting her, he rushed over to where she was standing, "Hey, Gin, can I borrow you a minute?"
"Sure thing, Love."
Ginny followed him toward the forest.
Harry dropped down on one knee, pulling out the ring he popped the question, "Ginny Weasley, will you marry me?"
Ginny smiled, "Of course I'll marry you, if you want kids."
Harry stood up and wrapped her in an embrace, "Of course I want kids, Gin."
Ginny radiated with happiness, kissing him on the cheek she said, "I love you, Harry, now can I go brag to my friends?"
Harry put on a mock serious expression, "About what?"
"About how I snagged the most eligible bachelor in England," and with that wonderful complement to her fiancé, Ginny ran off to show Luna her ring.
