The Beginning II
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were on their way to the water fountain, and had just finished talking to Oliver Wood, Harry's old Quidditch captain. They continued walking, and stood in line once they found the tap. Old Archie, in the flowered nightdress who liked "a breeze round his privates" left Hermione to duck away until he left.
Walking slower after filling their containers with water, Harry, Ron, and Hermione began their trek back to the campsite. They saw a few more people from other wizarding schools. Then a pretty girl walked across the mess of campsites in the perpendicular (what's another word? My mind's goin blank lol) direction. Harry noticed that from what he could see, she was very pretty. With long, black, shiny hair swishing as she walked, she was about half a head shorter than Harry. She turned her head to look at them, and she stopped, letting them walk past first. She didn't quite give them a second look until a breeze stirred up, blowing Harry's hair off his forehead.
The girl turned around quickly, to look at the trio again. She put out her hand to stop them. They halted, and they too turned to look at the girl.
"Hi," she began. "Excuse me for asking, but are you Harry Potter? Don't you go to Hogwarts?"
Harry, who was carrying a pail full of water with both hands, let go with one to shake her hand, slopping a lot of water down his front. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ron smirk. Trying not to give Ron a death glare, he stuck his hand out, "Yeah. I'm Harry. This is Ron Weasley," (he waved) "and Hermione Granger." (She waved too).
"Hello," answered the girl again, shaking Harry's hand. She hadn't torn her gaze away from Harry's. "I'm Cho Chang. I'm in Ravenclaw. A fifth year." She stuttered a little while she said this, which was uncharacteristic. Finally realizing she had been 'shaking' Harry's hand the entire time, she quickly let go.
There was a bit of an awkward silence. Then, "Well, I should go. I told my parents ten minutes, and now it's been about…" she checked her watch briefly. "…fourteen." She grinned, then added, "Nice meeting you all. Maybe I'll see you at school." Flashing another brilliant smile, she walked off.
Harry was in a bit of a daze, but then raised his hand in farewell. Ron chortled, and with Harry's glare, they started back to camp.
