Tears were streaming down her face. Why did Inuyasha do it? He said he loved her, he said that he didn't want to hurt her, but he still kept seeing Kikyo. Why? She asked herself over and over again as she ran towards the well. Why? What did I ever do to him? I told him I loved him! He told me he loved my. Did he lie? What happened? What went wrong? By now she was at the well. Just as she leaned over, about to jump in, a hand grabbed hers. She looked behind her, and saw Inuyasha there. She wanted to ask him why he had hurt her, but he knew what she was going to ask. He quickly said that he could explain, but could he really? She thought to herself.
"Im sorry!" he said earnestly, pulling her into a tight embrace " I'm so sorry, but it's not how it looks. I was just saying goodbye. Please don't go!" he pleaded with her. He could somehow sense that if she went, something would prevent her from ever coming back. He knew it. He couldn't survive without her, he would fall, and he wouldn't have anything to break his fall. He needed her to stay. She struggled out of his embrace, not wanting to make this hard. "Please! Please stay with me! I need you! I can't survive without you! Please don't go!" he begged her. She turned and faced him and then pulled him close to her, and reached her lips up to his as they kissed, with true love radiating around them. I'm so sorry, she thought, but I can't stay here if Kikyo is here with me. I know you love her, and I know it would hurt you to say goodbye, but I have to go! She kept thinking those words over and over in her head. "I already said goodbye! I won't have anybody if I can't have you!" he pleaded with her. She looked at him, then at the well. What should she do? She wondered to herself. I can tell he means it this time. I know he won't go back to Kikyo. I can feel it. He will never make it without me she thought to herself. She reached back up, and kissed him once again, but instead of a kiss goodbye, this was a promise kiss. A promise to stay with him. She looked into his amber eyes, and smiled as she said very quietly
"I know you will stay this time, so I will put my faith, and my heart in you. I will stay with you."
