Inuyasha and his friends walked down the forest drawn path. Miroukou and Sango stayed further behind Inuyasha and Kagome. Kagome looked at Inuyasha, her eyes filled with worry. Lately Inuyasha's been thinking and not speaking as much. I wonder if he's thinking about her? Kagome thought as she remembered what had happened just a few days before.
"Kikyo." Inuyasha said and Kagome's eyes widened. Kikyo stood and looked at Inuyasha with an evil smile. She raced to Inuyasha's side, looking back at Kagome." Inuyasha I'm here." She said as she began to get her lips closer to his. Inuyasha's eyes darkened as he looked down at her." Kikyo…Die." He said slashing her back with the Tetsiga. She fell to her knees, her back bleeding." Why Inuyasha. I thought you didn't want to kill me. I thought you loved me." She said tears streaming out of her eyes." I don't love you…not anymore." He said as Kagome became visible to him once more. He raced to Kagome's side and untied her." Are you alright?" He asked as she fell into his arms." Yeah? I'm fine." She said and both turned to Kikyo as she slowly bled her way back to death, or so they thought." Aren't you going to save her?" Kagome asked watching as Kikyo screamed from the pain in her back. Inuyasha slowly shook his head." I'd have no reason to. She'd just runaway and we'd end up fighting again." Inuyasha said sounding more mature then normal. His eyes were still the dark poisoned gold, and his sword dripped with Kikyo's blood. He flicked the Tetsiga and as blood splattered everywhere he resheathed it. They watched as she glared at Inuyasha then disappeared with help from her soul stealers. " I'll get you Inuyasha! I'll get you back!" She declared as she looked up and disappeared into the night's clouds." Come on lets get out of here." Inuyasha said turning and walking away. He paused and waited for Kagome to catch up to him. She raced after him and walked beside him.
I wonder if that's what he's thinking about. Kagome thought still looking at Inuyasha. She turned around and looked at Miroukou and Sango, who were perfectly content where they were. Miroukou and Sango were walking side by side and shipou and Kilala were in between the two pairs.
Inuyasha's eyes stayed at his feet. I can't believe I did that. But it came from my heart. Inuyasha thought as he remembered slashing Kikyo just a few before. He slowly turned his head to Kagome and caught her watching Miroukou and Sango. As her head started to move back he swiftly put his head down. He watched his feet the whole time they walked, looking up occasionally. They stopped by an inn and spent the night in the one of the inn's rooms. During the night Inuyasha stayed awake. He couldn't sleep and every time he tried he just saw what he didn't want to. He saw Kikyo killing Kagome and snapped up. Every time he tried he just ended up breathing hard and thinking more about Kagome's feelings for him. He looked over at Kagome as she slept and doubted her feelings even more. Why do I feel this way. I love her, but the question is…does she love me as much as I love her? he thought as his mind raced over what he's been through with Kikyo and what he's been through with Kagome. As he thought he went over how much he loved Kikyo and how much he loved Kagome. With that thought he slowly fell asleep.
