Remember
By: RH
Don't own Hp. Never have, never will
Looking off into the distance, he saddened. Over and over it went through his head. His own cousin. His own cousin made Sirius disappear.
"No…" he tried to convince himself, staring at the veil. His cheeks tear stained and the weight in his stomach slowly growing heavier. "He just went beyond the veil. Any second now, he'll show up. Right there."
He sobbed, knowing this couldn't be true.
He remembered first seeing him in the alley. He remembered watching him drag off Ron. He remembered seeing him in person for the first time, feeling the anger and hate welling inside him from thinking it was his fault his only family left was a bunch of horrid muggles, hearing him offer to live with him, the pang of sadness when Pettigrew escaped. He remembered seeing him in the fireplace, talking to him. Staying with him in Grimaud Place. His handsome face in photos, his long, tawny black hair, his pale, yet happy face. The face that had once been so beautiful but had cracked in the thirteen years of Azkaban. The thirteen years of false sentencing to Azkaban.
The tears streamed.
He remembered the scare of talking to Kreacher and hearing him say Sirius wasn't there. He remembered seeing him there at the Department of Mysteries; he remembered the pang of guilt and relief. Then… he remembered her pushing him through the veil. Watching him disappear, expecting him to come out from the other side in a moment. Just a moment… But he didn't. He could remember it all.
But that was it. All he could do was remember.
Harry stared at the veil and collapsed, sobbing, crying.
"He's gone…" he finally admitted. "That's it, Harry. He's gone and never coming back. You're never seeing him again. You're never going to live with him, you're never going to see him again, and you'll never be able to tell him that you love him." He shook his head, his body denying what his mind knew. He couldn't help it. The tears streamed as he tried to look up at the veil but when he did, his face and head fell and his shoulders shook.
"COME BACK SIRIUS!" he screamed through his sobs. "COME BACK! JUST…JUST…just come back…" Harry choked through his tears.
Why did it have to be this way? Why did fate have to be so cruel? Why did fate have to take him in the prime of life? Why?
Harry choked, trying to gasp for breath even though he now detested living. He slowly stood, staring the veil head on.
"I miss you Sirius. I love you," Harry choked through his sobs.
Suddenly he imagined it. Sirius in front of him, holding out his arms, inviting a warm, comforting hug. Harry blinked and smiled as he ran into his arms, sobbing.
And fell through the veil.
yeh, thats it, i don't think its a very open ended situation. He fell through. I've been thinking of writing this since last july (whenmy grandfatherdied) and now i finally have. its short, but i like the end result. i was crying while writing it though. im gonna make mah friend CJ (whom i call CC) read it and see if he cries cuz he cries so easily. hehe. :gives peace sign: ciao.
