Beer Cans and Brain Cells

Chapter 1

I've been waiting for this day…I thought to myself. The day where my friends and I gamble until midnight. I pulled my beige colored pants and a red t-shirt on. As I walked outside, I noticed Evy sitting on the ground with Alex. Oh……crap. Alex stood up and ran to me. "Hey, Uncle Jonathon! Are you gonna take me to the fair today?" He seemed excited. I looked down at him. "The fair?" Alex frowned. "Yeah, you promised you would." Evy glared at me. I laughed sheepishly. "Ah……oops. Sorry, Alex, I forgot all about it. Besides, I already made a promise to my gambling buddies." I ruffled his hair. "Some other time. Ok, kid?" Alex nodded, not saying a word. I could tell he was disappointed. Evy stomped up to me. "Jonathon!!" she fumed. Uh, oh. Here it comes. I thought. "You!! Why make promises you can't keep!?" she yelled. I shrunk back. "Look, I forgot, ok?" She smirked. "Oh, but you can remember when you get together with your gambling buddies!! Honestly! I wish we could spend one day in each other's bodies to see what each other really go through." I began to walk off. "Jonathon!!!! Get back here right now, older brother!" Evy yelled after me. Suddenly, the clouds parted, revealing a bright shade of red. "What the bloody heck is that!?!" I said. A blood red light indulged Evy. I jumped to catch hold of her, but was hit by a ray as well. We floated there, screaming in pain. Alex was cowering in fear by the ledge. A ghostly white thing floated out of Evy's mouth. I gasped and spit one up as well. Then…….everything went black.
