Relations Between Saiyans

A short oneshot dealing with a child Goten and his life without his true father. But what if he had a father all along, yet not the one you would think?

Gwg: All I am going to say is that I don't own DBZ or any of the other series and this has nothing to do with Yaoi.

Relations between Saiyans
One-shot

Dark coal colored eyes watched the two younger half-saiyans fight against each other. The elder of the two belonged to him, something that a few years ago he would've been loathed to admit. The younger of the two boys belonged to his one time enemy and now fighting rival, Goku. Goten was a replica of his father in every way, while Trunks was more like his mother than himself.

His eyes never moved away from the two as they continued to train in the room Bulma had made for him. The birth of Goten had been a surprise for his elder brother Gohan, as well as his mother, Chi-chi. To date he had never met his father, he had only heard about him from the other Z Warriors as well as from his mother and brother.

To say the least, the saiyan's heart went out to the young half-saiyan. His brother had tried to be a good father to him, but it just wasn't meant to be. Vegeta finally took his eyes off of them for a moment to check the time, four thirty exactly. Bulma would be barging in soon to tell them it was time for a break, which Trunks and Goten would take. As always he would train for awhile until Goten usually returned by himself, saying that Bulma had chores for Trunks to do.

It was then that Vegeta had a short training session with the young boy, testing his strength. To anyone else it just seemed that Vegeta was raising the new generation of warriors, but to those who knew him well it was more than that. Vegeta was a surrogate father to Goten since he had never known his own. Silently Gohan thanked him, Chi-chi was also very thankful that her son had someone like Vegeta who would care for him.

Bulma accepted it with a smile on her face, knowing that to her son Goten was just like a younger brother. They all hoped that Goku would be coming back soon, but a small part of Vegeta knew he would hate that reunion. When Goten was praised by his true father, he would just retreat back into the shadows, and yet, he knew that somewhere up there Goku was praising them both now.

Gwg: Kill me, I'm in the DBZ mood I suppose. I got bored and thought that this would make for an interesting subject of a one shot so I typed it up. Tell me what ya think, ja ne.
