Bruce thought about what Mongul's plant had shown him… "his greatest desire." Clark's had been detailed, an elaborate setting that included an entire world… and a family. Clark had a wife and son there and the parents that he never knew.
Bruce only had a moment in his dream… a single moment where his father triumphed over the man who had taken his life… the man who had taken the possibilities from Bruce's life. Nothing came after that moment in Bruce's dream because he could imagine nothing after it.
Clark lost his son.
Bruce lost his ability to be one.

Author's Notes- This is a gift story for lucidscreamer on live journal. She wanted something about Bruce and this is what appeared in my brain. It is also my first drabble. Please let me know what you think.
