Yuan could not help but reminiscence when she reached the sparkling, magical lake in Macalania.
This had been their place. His, and hers. Where he had eased her fears, and where she had received her first real kiss.

She had hoped to find him here. Anywhere, but especially here. This was where they had bonded.
This was where she hoped he would be, waiting. Waiting in the sparkling water with a smile.
"Yuna..." he would softly murmur, pulling her into an embrace. She would feel languid in his arms.
Yuna associated him with water. She couldn't place her finger on it, but water just seemed to fit.
It was where Wakka had found him. Where she had watched him.

It was in the lake where his lips has pressed against hers. It was almost as if Yuna was stuck in an immense desert, and that her only way out was him. He was an oasis. Thriving, beautiful, and plentiful to the taste. Except, now her oasis was gone and she was growing thirsty.

The others had all moved on. Kimarhi had become the Ronso tribe leader. Wakka and Lulu had become parents, and even Rikku, dearest Rikku, was beginning to move on. To show signs of tiredness. Or acceptance. Yet, Rikku always offered her ideas, about him. Was she teasing her? Hurting her?

Should she herself move on? She wanted too. She felt it was important she did. What if he never came back? What if she sat here forever waiting?

Then she could see the waters reflection. A lonely girl. It would only fill her with memories of the times they shared...

'What if they haven't forgotten?'
This single thought plagued her. What if it was true? It wasn't right to ask, after all.

When Lulu mentioned the mysterious man on the sphere Kimarhi had found, she sounded reluctant to speak of it. As if she tried to keep the hope at bay.
Kimahri himself still held the young man in high regard. Rikku didn't ever want to believe he was leaving. Wakka perhaps was a bit more obvious, looking to his side, expecting someone there to be talking too. He would look longingly at nothing.

Maybe it was all in her head.

He was just a dream. A ripple in the reality of the world. Like all ripples, he traveled the surface and eventually faded.

The last time she had saw him, she told him of her love. "I love you."
She did. He was her everything. Now it felt that he was only a raindrop, splashing upon her brow once, then leaving, to return to the magnificent heavens.

"...Yunnie? You ready to go?"
Rikku asked, approaching her from behind cautiously.
Yuna paused then nodded. "Yeah. I'm ready."
A light hand was placed on her shoulder, and she glanced into Paine's dark eyes. "Let's go."
The tall girl spoke softly. Rikku nodded and grabbed her cousins hand and began pulling her gently.

As she allowed herself to be lead away, she turned to look over her back at the sparkling lake once more.

A ripple spread, and slowly faded at the edges, coming to an end.
