The cool water, glittering in the moonlight, washed around his nacked body, and he sighed as he slowly relaxed. It washed the sweat off his body and covered his skin with small drops of water. For a moment he stood still, up to his hips in t he black water, shielded from curious onlookers by the dark forest. The moon's blueish light caused his skin to look as though it was glowing. Then a delightful voice brought him back to reality.
"Merry? Are you coming?"

"It was a nice feast, wasn't it?"
Sam, who was walking at Frodo's side, nodded.
"Oh yes, it was, Mr Frodo"
"Yes." Frodo smiled. He stopped to gaze at the Brandywine shimmering beautifully in the moonlight.
"Maybe Mr Merry is here!" said Sam, which brought him back to why he was here in the first place.
"Oh yes, you're right. Merry"
A quiet splash caught his attention. "Do you think Mr Merry might have forgotten that he promised to help us?" Sam inquired as he followed him to the river's edge.
"Maybe, maybe not. Usually, he doesn't forget these things... But when something truly distracts him..."
He picked up Merry's shirt.
"Something like this, for example." He chuckled quietly. "There are probably a blouse and a skirt lying around as well. Maybe Estrella's... She had her eyes on him all evening."
He carefully hung the shirt over a branch. "Come, let us leave the two alone. We can clean up without him."
As quietly as they had arrived, the two hobbits disappeared back into the forest.
"Estrella!" chuckled Merry under the protrusion where they had hidden.
"What luck that they didn't find your things, or they would have had to think their theory over."
"And what are you going to tell them when they want to know what happened tomorrow?" Pippin inquired.
Merry looked into his eyes and took his chin affectionately. His lips came dangerously close to Pippin's.
"That depends on what happens..."
