The Dream

It was a dark and quiet night in the land of Hyrule. Zelda, princess of Hyrule, quietly crawled out of bed and walked over to her window to peer out into the night sky. Everyone in the castle was asleep except for her; she had been having troubling dreams for the past several months. The dreams showed an evil man on a black stallion with his minions, taking over the kingdom.

At first she thought nothing of these dreams but as time went by, she began having them every night. She finally believed that her dreams were prophecies and something needed to be done. The evil man in her dream was a Gerudo king who went by the name of Ganondorf. The Gerudo King claimed loyalty to her father, the king of Hyrule, but Zelda began to distrust him as the dreams continued.

When she told her father of her thoughts, the only thing he did was laugh and tell her that Ganondorf was a good man and would not even consider doing such horrible things. After the discussion with her father, Zelda realized that it was up to her to do something.

"But what?" She whispered to herself as she took her Ocarina of Time, the family treasure from her beautifully carved chest. This treasure had been in the family for hundreds of years and olds many a power that anyone would die to have. Her mother had given it to her before she died. Zelda had sworn to protect it at all costs. Easier said then done.

Zelda gently placed the ocarina back into the chest and locked it with the key around her neck. She climbed back into her bed and fell asleep again.

"Zelda!"

Zelda winced as she heard the voice call her name. It seemed like she had just gotten back into bed.

"I'll be up in a minute Impa." She groaned as she turned over and pulled the covers up over her head.

"You better hurry. We're getting company today. Your father wants you up and about by the time he gets here." The voice replied back.

Zelda's eyes popped back open after she heard what Impa said.

"He?" she asked with a hint of worry. "Who is coming over?"

"Ganondorf."
