❤️little ficlet💛
He dreams of Cedric Diggory.
He dreams of Voldemort.
He dreams of his parents.
Hermione insists he talk about it all.
Harry brushes her away, annoyed. "Just drop it Hermione."
Ron cuts in, "Yeah, leave him alone. He has to deal with enough rubbish without you making him talk about that soppy emotions stuff."
But she just purses her lips and crosses her arms, frowning at him in knowing disapproval.
In the end, he refuses to talk to her about his nightmares. He refuses to discuss his feelings- or his trauma- or whatever it is she's calling it.
She whispers, "Oh Harry..." and hugs him, trying her best to be a physical comfort since he won't use his words. He begrudgingly allows her to wrap her arms around his body. She presses her chin into his shoulder and sighs in a 'i-know-you-don't-approve-but-this-is-for-your-own-good' sort of way.
He can't bare her air of pity. Well, maybe it isn't quite pity. He still finds it rather agitating.
Ron yelps, "Just leave him be!"
But in the end... Harry doesn't mind the hug so much. In fact, he manages to feel just the tiniest bit better about it all.
Even if it doesn't help with the nightmares.
A/N:
Harry's nightmares are canon. Hermione comforting him isn't.
*whisper* it really should be.
