"Just a Case of Bad Timing"
By WolfSisterKorrina

"Sigh..." A certain spikey-haired boy was laying on his back, staring at the increasingly orange-colored sky.

Kairi giggled. Watching Sora look all worried was quite amusing; normally he was acting too naïve to be worried about something.

"What's on your mind, Sora?"

They were both enjoying the sunset, but Sora was getting more and more fidgety, Kairi had noticed.

"It's...nothing..." Sora trailed off.

Kairi eyed him suspiciously. He was a bad liar. "Oh really?" She said in a joking voice.

Sora quikly got up and brushed himself off. 'Okay, I should tell her now.'

Kairi looked up at him. His back was facing the setting sun, giving him an orange lining. He looked so good.

He held out a hand. "I...need to tell you something."

He sounded serious; this must be it. He was going to tell her he loved her.

She took his hand and he pulled her up. They were both level now, and only a foot apart. Sora's hair was blowing slightly, adding to the seemingly-romantic mood.

"Kairi?" He said.

She inhaled deeply and readied herself. "Yeah, Sora?"

He hesitated. "There's been something on my mind for the past few weeks, and I need to tell you."

Kairi's heartbeat quickened as she noticed two things; One, Sora had taken both of her hands into his, and Two, he had somehow gotten much closer to her. She could feel his breath.

"What is it, Sora?" She almost whispered.

"Kairi..." He said.

She leaned in, getting ready to kiss him.

"I...I lost your new frisbee a while ago! It was an accident, honest!" He blurted out.

Kairi pulled back from him, her left eye twitching madly.

A few minutes later, Riku came upon what appeared to be Sora. Though it was hard to tell at first; he was horribly mangled.

"Sora? I just passed by Kairi, and she looked ticked. And you don't look too good yourself. What happened?"

Sora, with his face still stuck in the sand, said in a muffled voice, "Bad timing, I guess..."

Riku pulled his friend up, straightened him back into normal shape, and helped him walk home, all the while laughing as Sora told him what happened.

"Sora, you nimrod..."

Korrina: I hadn't planned on continuing this, but if enough people like it, I guess it could be continued somehow. This was meant to be a drabble, but it may be more of a one-shot. Well, anyway, please make sure to review! And if you want to flame me, though I don't know why you would, go ahead and flame! I like fire anyway!

Riku: Sora always manages to screw things up!

Korrina: Yeah, he does...-Dazed, staring at the bishie Riku-

Riku: -Sexy grin, knowing the authoress has hots for him-

Korrina/Riku: Bai!
