Once he made it to the town he was shocked to see dozens of robots attacking everyone. They were also destroying everything in sight. Sonic instantly got angry. All around him people were running, screaming, and crying trying their best to get away. Then just when he thought he couldn't get any more outraged he noticed the kid from before hurt on the ground, their mother on the ground unconscious. He couldn't just leave them so he raced over to them and was able to pick up the mother and kid and carried them to safety. Once he got them to the local doctor he heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Find that emerald! Now! I know it is here!"
Sonic looked up and in the sky, in a dome-shaped flying machine, he saw a chubby bald man. It looked like he was the one controlling the robots and instantly raged. He wanted to fight him but the chef stopped him.
"Wait! You can't. He's dangerous."
"But…" he looked on as the man continued to destroy his home. "...I can't just wait here." He speeds off to confront the man. "Hey! Egghead! Stop destroying our home!" he yelled.
The man turned around to reveal a very long mustache that surprised sonic. The man was unamused and said sarcastically. "The name is Dr. Robotnic and I am busy looking for something. I will move along once it is found."
"And what is this thing you are looking for?" Sonic demanded.
"Now why should I tell you?" Robotnik asked in a playful manner.
"So I can help you find it and get you out of here," Sonic said angrily.
"What's the fun in that?" The moment Robotnik said that a giant explosion happened behind him which pushed sonic over the edge in rage.
"Leave my home alone, Eggman," he said as he raced up at lightning speed, finding a weapon and starting to destroy the robots.
"Speedy critter aren't you," Robotnik said in annoyance. "But speed will not help you." He pushed some buttons and immediately many of his flying robots attacked Sonic at once. "Good luck," he said with an evil grin.
Sonic was cornered. He was able to destroy many of them but once he destroyed one it seemed like two more appeared. The numbers just kept growing. Then out of nowhere Robotniks biggest robot grabbed onto him and lifted him into the air. Robotnik laughed menacingly at Sonic's attempt to struggle free.
"Told you. You are no match for me." He then pushed a button and the robot threw Sonic as hard as it could, sending him flying. "Bye-bye," Robotnik said playfully. "Now back to business." He then began his search again with all the villagers watching in horror.
Meanwhile Sonic was making a crash landing that left a long skid mark in the ground. Even after he stopped Sonic just couldn't bring himself to get up. He wasn't badly hurt physically but was severely damaged mentally. He couldn't do anything to help the people he cared so much for. He was completely powerless. He was frustrated at the mad doctor but was also angry at himself. Finally, he just yelled in anger at the top of his lungs. Once he was done he just decided to give up. After all, what else could he do? He then remembered all the memories he had in the village with his parents and friends. Then imagining all those memories burning up in flames since the special places he was remembering are now being destroyed. The places that hold sentimental value were gone. He couldn't take it anymore and broke into tears.
"What should I do?" he asked himself, praying there was something else. Suddenly he noticed something in the damaged bit of earth. A glimmer of something shiny. "What is that?" Sonic walked over and removed the dirt and found a shiny gem. Sonic was amazed by its beauty and reached for it. The moment he did a sudden surge of power flowed into him. "What is this?" He looked at the emerald and immediately got an idea. He wasn't sure how but this gem was giving him a major power boost. This power might just be enough to defeat.
Then in a split second, he ran towards his town again. As he ran he could feel the power. He was faster and felt stronger. He knew he could stop Eggman now.
