The moment he saw the town he didn't even bother to stop and went straight for the biggest robot he saw. The one that threw him and destroyed it within seconds. At this point he was so fast even Robotnik didn't see him.

"What happened?" Robotnik said in surprise.

He then saw a blue blob on top of his robot. "Not strong enough huh?" Sonic said in a mocking tone. "Not anymore." Sonic smiled at Robotnik with newfound confidence. Robotnik saw what he was holding and instantly raged.

"The chaos emerald! Give it to me now!" he yelled.

"Not a chance, Eggman," Sonic said, preparing to fight. Robotnik then ordered all robots to attack.

Sonic was a bit surprised but not discouraged. He then began the battle and to his, the villagers, and even Robotnik's surprise he was able to easily defeat each robot. He was a lot stronger than he thought he was. His punches were harder, his speed was faster, and his stamina was limitless. Once he was done he glared up at Robotnik and said, "get out of this village. NOW!" Robotnik, not having any other way to fight, made his retreat but not before yelling.

"You have not seen the last of me, hedgehog!" within moments he was gone.

Sonic was glad and the moment Robotnik was gone the villages cheered for Sonic and raced to his side. Sonic was sad he couldn't save the village but he was thrilled everyone was safe. Suddenly in the moment relief set in, he got an overwhelming sense of dizziness. Before he knew it he passed out much to everyone's stock. They rushed to get him help while also rushing to save what was left of the village.

By the next morning, Sonic woke up. He was sore beyond belief but he was alive. He took in his surroundings and found he was at the town's inn. He was happy it was still intact but the moment he looked out the window a sudden wave of sadness came to him.

Everything around him was either destroyed beyond repair or severely damaged. The room he was in, upon a closer look, had many cracks and holes that were patched up. He figured the village fixed it up enough for him to rest.

The moment he was outside and everyone saw him they dropped what they were doing and ran up to him.

"Sonic are you ok?"

"You should not be out of bed yet."

"How are you able to move?"

These were just some of the things Sonic was able to hear within all the commotion around him. Suddenly a loud voice was heard over all of them.

"Be quiet! Give him some room! He is still injured!" The chef was the one who yelled. Sonic had never heard him yell like that before so was a bit stunned but was happy for the assistance.

"Hey, chef. How you doing?" Sonic said, forcing a smile.

The chef looked at him and said, "get back to bed. You are still in no shape to be moving around."

Sonic didn't argue but after seeing Sonic struggle to even move the chef picked him up and walked him to bed. Once in bed but before the chef could leave Sonic asked, "How is everyone? Did everyone make it?"

The chef looked at him and sighed. He sat at the end of Sonic's bed. "There were a few injuries but as far as we know everyone is alive."

Sonic was relieved but the chef got sad. "I wish I could say the same for the town." Sonic couldn't blame him. This was where he grew up. Where everyone grew up. Everything they knew and loved was now gone forever. He then suddenly got up and said, "but we can always rebuild." Sonic knew he was right. Homes and things always come second or lower to the safety of friends and family.

Sonic chuckled, "right."

"No more talking now. You need more rest." The chef said sternly.

Sonic gave a nervous chuckle. "Right." The chef left and Sonic found himself drifting to sleep.
