McKnight: Yes, that is on the cards… at least one of those characters is certain to be racing in this fic. As for your second review and item suggestions. Bowling ball is a nice idea so it'll be in there, missile is an alright idea but could prove to be unbalanced if we are talking cliffs, reflector is unbalanced, cross isn't a bad idea but very situational, the x's aren't bad either but I'm not totally a fan of it, possibly it'd be better as an alternative shot effect. Magnet is from Diddy Kong racing but done differently, although I've never liked items that aren't useful in any position. Swapper is completely unbalanced and if you haven't guessed I am very much a balance freak.

Erin's stun spinner is just as long as the pans however they get a stun effect after which screws around with their recovery process because they are dizzy. The main bonus of choosing Erin is the fact you can get BOTH the pans and stun spinner increasing the chances of her making a fight back. Every character has a cute little bonus like this one, although not all of them are revealed yet as there are to be more new features that will be revealed later on during the tournament.

Princess pac: Erin is neutral to Nancy, she doesn't really dislike her or like her (YET). But yeah, Nancy would probably have bunnies on the walls. It seems Erin has grabbed the attention of everybody , I bet Bonnie… err I mean Erin will be pleased :D.

Sarahsuke: Hmm… that's an interesting comment, I use spell check… but if you are talking about American spelling being wrong then yeah expect that, I even rechecked it just now, but if your talking about the occasional misplaced word then I apolgise I do that a bit. I've also changed the name of somebody you may be interested in.

Let's finally get on with the story.

The kids are walking towards the Dizzy land start line, until they find a huge crowd. In the crowd Linda spots her Dad.

"Daddy what are you doing here?" Linda asked

"Filming the race as a test" Richard said "Hey, move that camera further up… it has to get a good view of that part of the track" Richard called out on a megaphone

"Why? We were just doing this for fun" Jam said

"And so are we… come on, the people want to see the new talent entering the tournament. It'll be televised live all around Snow town" Richard replied

The kids exchanged unsure glances.

"Oh yes, and Tommy wants to enter as well… that's alright isn't it. Of course it is, good good, lets just race for 1 lap, just to test the equipment and to only give a sneak preview making the viewers want more of the close action, yes, yes" Richard said

"Riiight… okay then" Jam rolled his eyes

The kids just stood on the spot and Tommy joined them.

"Sorry guys, but I just couldn't say no to Richard when he wanted to make this race 6 people like the tournament" Tommy scratched his head

"I don't think you were even given a chance to, let's just do this" Jam said

"My Daddy is only looking for our best interests in the future. I think it's great" Linda smiled

"You think that Linda... Although it would have been nice for him to ask if everybody was in with this" Jam said

The 6 of them prepared for the race. However they were told to wait before they lined up and to wave to the camera when asked.

"This is just stupid… we just wanted to race" Jam shook his head

"You are going to get paid you know" One of Richard's staff said

"Well I suppose that makes it worth while racing, being on TV is cool" Kat said

"I'm worried I'm going to make an idiot of myself" Adam whispered to Jam

"You know what… I'm a little worried too" Jam smiled

"What you?" Adam laughed

"Hey cut it out, we are starting" The person sitting behind the camera said.

"Hello and welcome to tonight's exhibition race. Tonight we are racing at Dizzy land and have a good turn out from our enthusiastic crowd" Richard stopped for a moment as the camera panned to the crowd at the start line and then flicked to later on down the track. "We are in for a real race as we get a sneak preview of some of the new talent entering the next tournament, as well as our old veterans returning for another season which promises to be close and exciting as ever" Richard continued his commentary "Sitting with me in the commentary box is Mr. Greg Parsy, so what do you take into this tournament so far?" Richard asked

"Well Richard, this race could determine a few things that the competitors themselves could be unaware of. So let's go over the racers themselves…" Greg said "First up is my son Tommy… he's been boarding for some time and he definitely has one of the highest top speeds of all those in Snow town, but cornering still proves to be a problem however his recent lost of weight has helped that. Hasn't won any tournaments yet but has 10 race wins, the most of anybody not to win a tournament" Greg said as Tommy waved to the camera as he made his preparations

"Tommy is using a level 3 freestyle board here, second is Michael Caelius, the tournament will be his race debut, using all around level 3, apparently has a good friendship with my daughter Linda who is next up" Richard said as Michael raised one hand to wave to the crowd and the camera

"Yeah, Linda Maltinie, 17 tournament race wins and 2 championship titles, quite impressive she's definitely one of the favourites to win the tournament, she using an all around level 3" Greg then stopped talking as the crowd let out an almighty roar as Linda's name was called out as she waved with both hands to everybody.

"Quite popular as you can see too" Richard laughed

"Yes indeed, Jam Kuehnemund is next up, another one of the favourites in the tournament, 15 race wins and 2 championship titles, battles on track between him and Linda have been interesting and both will be eager to get the edge in this tournament, he's using an all around level 3 here" Greg said
"Kat West, American/Canadian, another one of the debutants in the tournament, we really don't know what to expect from her here, she's using a freestyle level 3, and finally Adam Ferrero" Richard said

"Adam Ferrero, another debutant, Australian, quite an interesting story as far his board goes, balance level 3, not all around as the Mr. Dog boards are all around, alpine and freestyle while the Ferrero ones are balance, trick and speed, the names were changed on Mr. Dog's boards to avoid confusion. This kind of design is quite new to us here as Mr. Dog has been the sole supplier of boards for a long time, while Mr. Dog and the Ferrero's do indeed work together, there will be a lot of eyes on his performance tonight, if he performs well enough there could be a board war in the tournament" Greg said

"Just for our viewers at home, what is a board war?" Richard asked

"A board war is when two or more makers of boards are available in a tournament, where the competitors can take from one supplier or another. It of course motivates both suppliers to provide the customer with a better product. Since Mr. Dog hasn't had competition for years I can very much sense the possibility of a board war" Greg said

"And it seems our racers are ready to go" Richard said as the camera now appeared on a top view of all the boarders

A/N: If this were the game, the boarders can choose level one of either boards from SBK1 (Freestyle, All around, alpine) or those from SBK2 (Trick, Balance, Speed). The style you choose (SBK1 or SBK2) also dictates how your tricks are performed, meaning that should you choose SBK1 you get access to more special tricks which can rake gold in quicker in a shorter landing space while SBK2 gives you custom tricks where you can continually flip and spin like in SBK2, but you only get two of your special tricks instead of the normal 4 or 5 and they can't be continually flipped from and you can't use board grabs during them either. In the SBK1 system though you can now use a board grab during a special trick where you hold the board, but in SBK2 your grabs are just touches of the board but you can do multiple ones. It's all on which trick system you preferred, as some liked SBK1's version of tricks and others liked SBK2.

Mr. Dog himself now appeared in his balloon in front of the racers.

"Ready?" He raised his starters pistol

The tension mounted, even the crowd was silent for this moment

"GO!" He announced firing it and everybody jumped from the line

Tommy was in the lead early, with Linda chasing him, Michael in third, Jam in fourth, Adam in fifth and Kat in sixth position. Linda was all over the back of Tommy though as she went through a red shop and Tommy ahead of her went through a blue, Michael, Jam and Adam all missed while Kat got a red shop.

Tommy dropped a rock but Linda predicted it and moved out of the way, and Michael followed her line, as Linda fired a snowman at Tommy as he came to the first jump into the rollercoaster sector of the course, he did a simple back flip with a tail grab. However in doing so he landed right on the second snowman Linda tossed.

"Oomph" Tommy said as he couldn't see outside the snowman

While Tommy was headed for a wall, Linda passed him she then had Michael to deal with. Tommy after recovering was then in front of Jam while Kat fired a whirlwind at Adam, he focused and jumped over it, Jam saw it coming from behind and jumped into the air, unfortunately for him it bounced off one of the walls and landed right back into him sending him high up into the air, but he didn't have anything to drop.

Linda who was still leading went through a blue box, Michael went through a red keeping Linda in range, Tommy got the blue one that had returned while Adam got the red. Further back Kat also picked up a blue box and Jam who was last got a red one. Linda was approaching the tea cups as she dropped a rock in an attempt of losing Michael while he was concentrating on the tea cups, however he turned sharply just in time to avoid it, Tommy however landed right on top of it, Michael spotting this opportunity of Tommy being defenceless fired a bomb backwards, it hit with perfect accuracy.

"Wow, that's pretty harsh" Linda looked behind her

"Learnt from the master" Michael smiled in reply

"I'm glad, but don't get any ideas of overthrowing the princess just yet…" Linda then suddenly turned off to the left

Michael was caught off guard by the shortcut that Linda took however was able to turn his board and make the turn in time. Meanwhile Tommy's suffering was continuing, Adam behind Tommy fired a freeze shot into him as he was recovering from the bomb, as he was still on the ground he had no defence and could only take the hit.

"Tommy is getting juggled badly, this is the third hit and… in comes Jam with a parachute shot…" Greg said as Jam fired the parachute shot into the still grounded Tommy and took him up in the air "Ouch I know he's going to feel that tomorrow morning… absolutely nothing he could do to avoid that" Greg said

"Just so everybody knows, juggles are when a competitor gets hit by multiple items keeping them from moving or doing anything, in this case it was a 4 hit juggle" Richard explained

Greg rolled his eyes, Richard loved to show off on how knowledgeable he was.

"Anyway Maltinie is coming to water rapids area with Caelius close behind her with only that and the huge jump to the finish line" Greg said

Tommy meanwhile had started moving again and deliberately missed the short cut to get a blue item, he got an invisible item.

"Oh… I was hoping for pans to make a catch up" Tommy frowned

However it would turn out to be as a good as… Linda and Michael were approaching the jump before the rapids with Michael using a speed fan to get along side her, just as they were about to make the jump, two silver pans landed on each of their heads. Adam and Jam were splattered too as it turned out Kat was the one who threw them as she zipped past Adam and was nearly up to Michael and Linda but then she suddenly felt a freeze shot hit her in the back while being right next to Linda. Linda looked beside her as she stood up and saw it was Adam who fired the freeze shot into Kat as she tried to make a quick getaway.

"YES!" Erin cheered out from the top of the jump near the finish line "Take that for hurting Jam…" Erin said

"Are you ready…" Slash handed Erin a rope

"What's this?" Erin asked

"Tug on this when I give the signal, it'll move the rope I've hidden in the snow so it'll trip Kat up so she lands into the paint trap I've set up at the bottom" Slash said

"Ooh you're a clever one aren't you" Erin said

"Yeah… I know" Slash smiled

Meanwhile Tommy had gotten past Jam when he used his invisible item to avoid Kat's pan attack, meanwhile Michael and Linda had no choice but to miss the jump while Kat followed them in soon after, Adam who was further back had just enough speed to clear it.

"Wow, now that was a close one for Ferrero…" Richard said

"Yes but he's made it cleanly, he takes the lead now, Maltinie seems to be second, Michael Caelius in third, West in fourth, Tommy is fast catching the pack in fifth and Jam is holding the rear" Greg called out the current positional standings

Adam then headed into the rapids section, Linda, Michael, Tommy and Kat were all behind as they were very close together as they followed, Tommy fired a slapstick at Michael, he jumped over it and it then homed in on Linda, she watched it coming and while she jumped over it, she also crashed into the side barrier which caused her to lose her momentum allowing Tommy to slam another slapstick at her this time bringing her down. This allowed Michael, Tommy and Kat to get by her and Jam was very close behind Linda when she got moving.

Adam headed for the final jump and went into the air with a backflip and a side spin and then did a front grab as he then headed for the ground, he was going to win and he went across the finish line in first. The loud crowd cheered even louder when he crossed the line.

"And Ferrero wins the Dizzy land exhibition. It's obvious that his board helped him there" Richard said

"Perhaps, but there is always a lot of luck involved in one lap races, no doubt though he definitely held his own out there today. Caelius in second has been high in the field the entire race doing very nicely, he comes over the jump with a very nice looking 720, he looks like he'll hold off Tommy, and West comes next… but she's fallen, she somehow tripped at the top of the jump!" Greg called out in shock

Indeed Kat was falling face first towards the snow… until it opened into a large pool of paint.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!" Kat screamed as she continued to fall, Linda and Jam stopped at the top of the jump.

"SLASH KAMEI! What have you done this time! Can't you leave ANYBODY in peace" Linda shouted going red faced as she saw Slash running laughing his head off as Kat landed in the paint. Linda tried to give chase but Slash had already vanished.

Jam boarded down the hill and jumped off his board and grabbed Kat's hand who was still in the paint. He tried to pulled her out of the paint as she held onto his hand and he got her out and laid her on her back on the snow.

"Wow are you alright?" Jam asked

"Err… I think so…" Kat rubbed her head

"Honestly that boy takes pleasure in making the lives of others miserable" Linda shook her head

"Who?" Kat asked

"Slash Kamei, who else" Linda replied

"I see… thanks Jam for saving me, you are my hero" Kat smiled as Jam shrugged blushing slightly.

Richard, Greg and some unnamed assistants came.

"What happened here?" Richard asked
"Slash tripped Kat up somehow, and then set this trap" Linda said

"Such a troublemaker… why does he insist on causing so much trouble" Richard sighed

"Hey at least he won't cause trouble during the tournament as he'll be competing" Jam said

"Fortunately, I'm going to kick his butt into next month… that shouldn't prove too difficult" Linda laughed

"I'll take Kat over to the medical team just to clean her up and to make sure she hasn't got any injuries" Greg said

"Alright… I'll see you again at the first race" Richard said as Greg helped Kat to stand up and took her off.

Tommy, Michael and Adam joined the other 3.

"Well it's a shame to end a great event like this…" Richard said "But Adam you still won, and Michael you came second, you should be both proud of your achievement, beating these guys isn't easy, a good tactical show" Richard said

"Well Jam and Linda had already raced today, so they weren't at full strength" Adam said

"Yeah and Tommy got beat up half way through the race so you can hardly call it a fair contest" Michael added

"Seriously Michael a lot of the things that go in during our races are not fair at all… you both still did very well, but we won't be holding back at the tournament" Linda said

"I should hope not Linda. That would be very unMaltinie like" Richard said

Behind the clowns at Dizzy land Erin had come around and saw Slash lying his back on the wall.

"Slash, you were supposed to humiliate Kat… but now you've caused her to get a better shot at Jam" Erin said

"I humiliated her, I did my job, you just didn't think of the consequences didn't you?" Slash replied with a big grin

"… DAMN IT!" Erin screamed out loud

Slash covered his ears

"Shhh, they'll find us if you scream out like that again" Slash uncovered his ears

"Well now what will I do" Erin looked downwards "Kat's got Jam's attention and sympathy now and meanwhile I've got nothing" Erin said

"You'll just have to rethink your tactics, but Jam isn't all he's cracked up to be…" Slash said

"He's PERFECT don't you say anything bad about my JAM!" Erin screamed again

By the time Erin had stopped screaming Slash had disappeared again. Erin sighed deeply.

"Maybe he's right, maybe I need a different approach. Kat's going for the sympathy thing… so I'll prove to him I'm totally independent. How can I do that though?" Erin wondered then it came to her "Ah the tournament, I'll just have to do really well or better yet win…" Erin grinned to herself

Who will catch Jam's heart first, will it be the quieter Kat or will Erin's determination win through? How will the board war effect the racing? What tracks were voted in for the next race? And more importantly who will win?
