Ember flipped through pages and pages of the book that was thrown at her by the librarian. She seemed to be panicking, and writing notes, with an investigation board in front of her.

"Come on, come on!" Ember shouted, "Where is the evidence??"

Ken walked downstairs, yawning and rubbing his eyes, "Ember, it's six o'clock in the morning, why are you awake?"

"The end is near, Ken!" Ember answered, "The end is near!"

Ken cocked an eyebrow, "Huh?"

"The school librarian threw this book at me called 'The End' and it tells us how the world will end soon!"

"You're crazy."

"Ken, you don't understand," Ember handed him the book, "Read it."

Ken rolled his eyes and read the first two sentences aloud.

The end is coming soon, whether on purpose or accidental, it will start with static, holes in the ground. The end is near on May the third. Be aware.

"Doesn't seem that scary," Ken handed Ember the book back, "Besides, what's the worse that could happen? We have potions, y'know!"

"That's right!" Ember reminded herself, "We can use the potions to stop the end! Great idea, Ken!"

Ken rolled his eyes as Ember ran out of the door and towards the MK Factory. She entered through the door to see Gumball in one of the rows.

"Gumball?" Ember called out, "It's six o'clock in the morning, why are you awake?"

No answer.

"Gumball?" as Ember walked a little closer, he could hear him crying, "Gumball, what's wrong??"

"It's Penny," he answered, "She had a…"

Ember didn't rush him. She figured she knew what happened.

She lost the baby.

"Come on, Gumball, you have to go to school. It's already been two days, you can't miss any more days, or you'll have to repeat the eighth grade," Nicole said as she patted his shoulder. Penny was already dressed and ready, trying to cheer Gumball up as well.

"Gumball, I know this is a hard time for you," Nicole said, "It's a hard time for Penny, too."

Penny nodded in agreement as Gumball scooted farther away from from, "Just leave me alone. It's not about that."

"What's wrong?" Penny asked, getting on the bed toward him.

"I feel bad," he uttered.

"Why?"

"Not only did you have a…" Gumball couldn't finish the sentence, but he continued the statement, "You moved out with your family. You had an argument with them. I died for two days. You missed both tryout seasons."

"Gumball, it's not your fault," Penny assured him, "These things happen."

Gumball sighed and hid his face in his knees, "I know…"

Ember crawled through the window⸻yet again⸻and made her way to the bed with Penny, "Okay, Penny, I spoke with Principal Brown and he said he will let you on the team, even though it's almost May."

Gumball lifted his head up, "Ember, is there a way to undo the m-miscarriage?"

Ember sighed, "I was about to get to that. Nicole, can you, uh, the talk?"

Nicole laughed nervously, "U-Uh, s-sure, yeah."

"I've had the talk," Penny said as she shivered, "I'mma go with Ember. Ember?"

"I have a plan, come with me," Ember said as they walked out of the bedroom.

"So, what did you come up with?" Penny asked.

"Okay, so I know you had a miscarriage, but I have made a potion that has a rewind button, like a remote, and maybe this time, the baby will make it, because everything has a different future when you replay it," Ember explained, "Do you consent?"

Penny nodded as they exited the house, "Anything to get Gumball back into the zone."

"Yeah, he seems depressed," Ember agreed, "I don't think it's because of the miscarriage, the disease, and you missing tryouts. I think someone at school is making fun of him."

"What makes you say that?"

"Haven't you noticed that during lunch, he seems…off?"

"Yeah, actually, I have."

"We need to find out who is making fun of him," Ember continued as they walked inside of the factory, "But who would…who would bully him to the point he wouldn't want to go to school."

"Makes sense…"

As they made their way into the building, Ember led them into a small room that looked similar to a science lab. There had been beakers filled with green substances, clear substances, and some syringes lying on the counters.

"Keep an eye out on him today, I had a talk with Nicole and she'll make sure he goes today," Ember described.

Penny nodded in agreement, "Alright, let's do it."

"Hey, karate champ, haha," a voice said, walking up behind Gumball, "Beat any butts lately?"

Gumball sighed, "No, Peter…"

"Yeah, that's what I thought," Peter chuckled, "Time for the beating of your life?"

"Not like I have anything better to do," Gumball sighed, putting his bookbag down and arms up like he was surrendering. Instead of punching him, Peter grabbed the fire extinguisher beside them and hit Gumball in the head, making him unconscious. Peter ran away laughing at what happened before he bumped into Ember.

"Move out of my way," Peter smirked before Ember punched him, "Stop being mean, Peter! It's not nice. Principal Brown!"

"Saw the whole thing. Peter, you're suspended. Come with me," Principal Brown said as him and Peter left and fled toward his office.

"Gumball!" yelled a terrified voice, who was soon revealed to be Penny when she darted toward her unconscious boyfriend, "Gumball, wake up! I'm here, I'm here!"

Ember travelled toward Penny and Gumball, "It's alright, Penny, Peter's suspended."

"Oh, Gumball…" Penny hugged him before he awoke.

"W-What happened?" he uttered when Penny let go.

"It's okay, Gumball, you're okay," Ember informed him.

"Where am I? Who are you? Who am I?"

"Penny, call 911," Ember said, turning her head while her eyes were locked down at Gumball.

Penny nodded and reached for her phone.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Elmore Junior high, we had a student with a concussion, he can't remember a thing, please send an ambulance quickly!"

"Sending one now, can you stay on the line?"

Penny nodded, "Yes, of course." She sounded very anxious, a hint of anxiety within her breaking voice. Very soon, an ambulance showed up and took Gumball away.

In P.E., Darwin saw the ambulance. He was told not to follow one, but being ten years old, his curiousness caught up with him. He ran out of the front door, Ember trying to stop him.

"Darwin, it's not a good idea," Ember told him. Darwin didn't listen and continued to follow the ambulance until he saw a blue cat through the back doors. His heart stopped and he froze in place. Ember and Penny ran up to him and pushed him out of the road so he wouldn't get ran over by the following truck. Ember and Penny ducked and ran over to Darwin once the truck had passed.

"Darwin, are you crazy?? You could've died!" Penny scolded. Darwin didn't react, he only froze, sat down, and looked cold.

"Don't worry, Darwin, Gumball's alright. Someone has been bullying him⸻Peter⸻and Peter decided to hit Gumball with a fire extinguisher, he's got a major concussion," Ember explained, "He's just going to be observed at the hospital until his memory returns. I need to go tell Nicole and Richard, Penny, go get Anais."

Penny nodded and ran back toward the school. Ember helped Darwin stand up as they both walked toward the Wattersons' house.

Knock knock knock!

"I'm too lazy, so I left the door unlocked!" Richard shouted from inside. Ember and Darwin entered. Richard was surprised to see them back from school so early, "Why are you two back from school so early?"

"Gumball's at the hospital," Ember finally announced.

"What?!" Richard responded, "Why? What's wrong? What happened?"

"There's this bully…that gave him a concussion with a fire extinguisher," Ember continued, "Where's Nicole?"

"She's taking a nap in the bed⸻"

"What are you kids doing here so early??" Nicole shouted as she opened the upstairs bedroom door and walked downstairs.

"Uh, N-Nicole," Ember stuttered.

"What?!" Nicole raged.

Before Ember could continue, the wall phone rang. Nicole's angry glare turned into a calm expression when she walked to the phone and answered it. After a couple of seconds, her knees shook in fear, and she fell to the ground onto her knees, the caller calling out to Nicole.

"Nicole, let's go to the hospital," Ember said, "I'll go get the twins, okay?"

"No, I wanna go by myself. You two need to go back to school. It'll be fine. All okay," Nicole stood up, grabbed the car keys, and hurried outside of the door.

"Come on, Darwin," Ember said as she patted his back, "Let's head back to the school. You got the twins, Richard?"

Richard nodded and the two headed outside of the door and toward the school's direction.

"Anais?" Penny called out from the end of the hallway. Anais closed her locker and walked up to her.

"Hi, Penny! Whatcha doin' in the ninth grade hallway?"

Penny sighed, "Gumball's in the hospital."

"What?"

"He has a concussion. He'll be in there until his memory returns."

"What happened?"

"A bully cracked a fire extingusher on his head."

"Who's the bully?"

"Peter."

Anais smiled, "Alright, then⸻"

"He's suspended."

"Aw, man, I was totally not gonna kick his butt."

"Yeah, I figured."

"What are we waiting for?? We need to go visit him!"

"Anais, we can't, we have to stay here."

"Too bad! Come on!' Anais grabbed Penny's arm and ran out of the school building.

"Anais, Penny, we have to stay at school!" Ember said, meeting up with them.

"Anais doesn't agree!"

"Anais, stop!" Ember shouted, trying to hold her back.

"No! I want to see my brother!" Anais dodged and ran toward the hospital.

"Follow her!" Darwin yelled, as they all accompanied her, quickly reaching the hospital's counter.

"I want to see my brother!" Anais said, trying to get the receptionist's attention.

"What's his name?" the receptionist asked.

"Gumball Watterson," she answered.

Ember, Penny, and Darwin entered the hospital doors as Anais ran toward a room. She opened it to see her mom and brother in there. Gumball listening to the doctor, Nicole holding his hand, and Anais running at the bed.

"Anais, why aren't you at school?" Nicole asked.

"I wanted to make sure Gumball's alright!" Anais answered as she hopped onto the bed, "Are you?"

Gumball nodded, "Yes, I'm fine. Just a headache, and nausea."

Anais went in for a hug as Darwin, Penny, and Ember entered the room.

"Sorry, Nicole, we tried," Ember said nervously.

Nicole smiled, "It's alright. He's regained his memory. He's got a headache and some nausea, but other than that, he's perfectly fine."

"Oh, thank goodness!" Darwin said, relieved that Gumball would be okay. He headed toward him and hugged his brother, "Please don't scare me like that, buddy," Darwin let go, "I was terrified."

"Sorry, Darwin," Gumball looked over at Penny, who still seemed fearful of losing her beloved Gummy, "Penny, over here."

Penny walked over to Gumball and kissed his forehead, going in for a hug, "Oh, thank goodness you're okay! It's okay, now, Peter's been suspended. You're safe!"

Gumball smiled, "Thanks, beautiful."

Penny smiled back as Ember exclaimed, "I found a cure! I found a cure!"

"Of what?" Gumball replied.

"Why, the baby of course," Ember grabbed a potion out of her bookbag and handed it to Penny, "Penny, one drop and your baby will be back, I've made the potion, and now, the miscarriage will not happen."

"Oh, Ember, thanks so much," Penny said, going in for a hug, "You're literally a hero."

"Not for long I'm not…" Ember stopped herself from spoiling the problem, "Uh, thanks, Penny."

"Huh?" Penny questioned.

"Nothing, just forget I said anything," Ember smiled nervously before running out of the room.

"That was strange," Gumball said.

"Very strange…" Anais agreed.
