Chapter one-
There was nothing that reflected Kagome's emotion that she was feeling at the present time. What she had just seen made her think twice in her trust between her friends. Were they really after the jewel to actually get rid of Naraku? Or was this all fake and she was some sort of bait? Either way, Kagome couldn't tell, she felt too used to talk to anyone, even Chippo seemed no ray of comfort to her. She didn't even want to go home, maybe if she did, Inuyasha would actually realize her absence. But there was nothing at the moment to rid of her depression.
She saw them both, hidden between trees, darkness devouring them into nothingness. She saw them; Kikyo and Inuyasha, holding each other in a tight embrace. At first she though that her eyes were playing her, but when she blinked again, she knew she was right, it was no illusion. Tears burned her eyes as she let out loud sobs, surely he would hear her, but she dare not look into his face. When Inuyasha noticed that Kagome was there, he looked at her as though she were Kikyo, as though the person he were holding was nothing more than just a corpse made out of clay.
"Kagome…?"
Kagome didn't answer; she wanted to run but was planted on the spot, her breath caught in her throat, making her unable to speak. Her heart pounding so hard through her rib cage, surely Inuyasha would hear it from where he was standing.
"Please…don't…come…near…m-me!"
His expression looked like he was just stabbed. His face looked hurt, and for a moment Kagome wanted to go over and comfort him. Kikyo brought Inuyasha's face closer to hers, just as her lips brushed against his, he pushed her away and ran towards Kagome. As though suddenly life sprang into her, she turned as fast as she could and ran away from Inuyasha, leaving him there heartbroken and befuddled.
Kagome ran past Sango and Miroku, at first neither of them didn't notice that someone passed their way until Inuyasha came to a halt.
"Did Kagome pass this way…"?
"Have you done something to upset her, Inuyasha?"
He growled and grabbed Miroku's collar. "I DON'T CARE IF I UPSET HER, I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHERE SHE IS"
Miroku pushed the angry half-demon off of him and pointed in the direction where Kagome ran. He didn't wait for another minute; he sprinted towards the trees where Kagome was. Her scent was not far from here, and to make his heart sink even more, she was crying and screaming out words that he never heard her use. Maybe her anger would slow her down, but she knew that if Inuyasha would come after her, he would beat her to it.
"How could he? THE NERVE OF –OF THAT –AARRGGHH?
He jumped into a tree and spied on Kagome a bit longer, making sure that he was out of sight. Kagome broke down crying again, her arms covering her head, her back shaking uncontrollably. Inuyasha could stand it anymore, he never liked seeing someone crying, but when it was Kagome, he broke down himself.
He climbed down the tree carefully and stood hidden within the shadows looking at Kagome sobbing.
"Kagome?" He spoke in barley a whisper; he knew that it didn't work. He walked up towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Kagome jumped and yelled, she trust her arms in every direction, she wanted to hurt Inuyasha. He just grabbed her arms and brought her closer to him. Kagome forgot all about her anger as Inuyasha pulled her into a passionate kiss.
