Chapter 19: Supplemental #7
Summary:
Angela makes a choice that devastates the group.
Walking back upstairs after talking to Fareeha, Angela sat at the table, biting her lip as she tapped her fingers softly, the blonde lost in thought. She barely felt Satya's hand on her shoulder, and she looked up at the Indian woman.
"Angela?" Satya asked. "What is it? You've been sitting here quiet for over an hour. Is something wrong?"
Angela sighed. "I suppose you could say that, yes," she said. "I got a call from Fareeha. She asked me to come to Vancouver for a couple of days while she's with her father."
"And that's a bad thing?" Mei asked, looking over. "You were always close to Fareeha before."
"I didn't say that, Mei. I…have been thinking about leaving the house to you girls. Packing my things and staying with Fareeha."
"Leavin' us?" Ashe asked. "After we uprooted our shit from all over the goddamn world after gettin' a taste of that cock of yours? And then uprootin' outta the Overwatch base when your ass got fired? You're talkin' about ditching us?"
"No…not like that," Angela said, getting up. "Ashe, please…try and understand. Having this thing has proven disastrous. All of you have become addicted to it. I destroyed Moira's mind, and I made innocent women sluts. I've ruined your lives more then I've helped them. I've never asked you to stay."
"And you didn't have to, Cherie. We would have regardless," Amélie said. "The last months with you, and in turn, the others has been the most fun I have had since before Gerard's death. You can't just expect us to give this all up."
"No, I can't. That's why I'm asking you all to stay here. To keep my family home. You have all become the family I needed, but…while I love all of you, for all of the reasons I can't say, I have to do something for myself. The longer I stay with all of you, the more I lose myself to the idea of just fucking all of you over the table, the sink, the shower, whatever, all day long. I can't keep doing this to you," Angela said. "Which is why I am asking you…to please, accept my family home, the money I have, as gratitude and a show of the love I have of you girls, to live comfortably until either the money runs out or you decide to leave."
The room was silent, the only noise coming from Amélie stirring some tea. "You know that Hana won't approve," the sniper said, folding her arms. "Nor will Sombra, Lena and Emily."
"I know. Which is why I hope I can speak to Hana first," Angela said. She got up, putting her hand on Satya's shoulder. She walked around the room, touching each of her friends and lovers, as if saying goodbye. "You have all been good to me. I only hope that I've done my best to make you all happy."
Amélie reached out and took Angela's hand, pulling her close before kissing her softly. "Merci, Cherie. You gave me a chance to love and be happy again. And you've kept the Widowmaker at bay."
Angela nodded, kissing Amélie in return. She felt hands on her waist, being turned before being kissed by Satya. "Satya—"
"No words are needed, Angela," she said. "You got me away from Talon's influence in Vishkar. I cannot repay that. You have shown me and given me the love I was missing. Thank you."
"And you saved me from the Antarctic. Got me back to my friends. I can't thank you for that enough," Mei said with a smile.
Ashe sighed, getting up and hugging Angela. "Showed me there was more than just killin' and takin' what I wanted. Gave me a new life," she said. "I don't like this, Ange, but it's what's in your heart, ain't it?"
Angela nodded, patting Ashe's back and nodding softly. "Yes," she said softly. "I'll leave notes for Hana, Lena, and Emily. I wish I had the courage to speak with them directly." She pulled back, sighing softly.
"What about Moira?" Amélie asked. "What do you want us to do about her?"
Angela sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Untie her. Take the toys away, clean her up. Give her time to come down off of the addiction. Once she's coherent and able to converse, tell her what I decided. If she wants to find me to fight and kill me, I don't know that I'd stop her. Out of all of you, she's the one I hurt the worst, and…I regret it every day. Even if it may not seem like it." She sighed softly, rubbing her arms. "I'll need to pack my things. Write the letters to the girls."
The women around the kitchen nodded, walking up before surrounding Angela in a group hug. The former doctor melted into her friends and lovers, closing her eyes as a few tears fell from her cheeks.
"I love you all. Please, forgive me," she whispered. She wiggled out of the hug, lowering her head as she walked out, heading for the stairs. She walked up and shut her bedroom door, sinking to the floor with her back against the hardwood, tears falling down her cheeks softly. She stayed there for a few minutes, wiping her eyes before she forced herself up, grabbing her suitcase and starting to pack her clothes.
Later that night, Angela walked up to her private jet, securing her case before giving the location to her pilot. "When you land in Vancouver, refuel and come back here. The girls may eventually have need of you," she said.
"Yes, ma'am. What about you?" the pilot asked. "How will you get home?"
"I won't," Angela said. "I'm leaving it behind for good." She sat down, the pilot going to the cockpit as the door shut. She felt the plane take off, and she sighed to herself. Digging into her purse, she grabbed her ever-trusted tablet, opening one last log.
Angela Ziegler Personal Log Final
April 9, 2078
This is the last of these that I will write. I'm leaving this all behind me. I'm going to Vancouver to meet with Fareeha. Perhaps I'll be staying permanently this time. It pains me to leave the girls behind, but it's for the best. I wish I could have spoken to Hana, Sombra, Lena, and Emily one last time, but I didn't want to wait for them or keep Fareeha waiting.
I left instructions with Am élie, instructions on how to delete my notes and experiment markers for the HEGZ, and I hope that in time, she'll execute them in the proper manner. I sincerely hope that all of these wonderful women find happiness somewhere else.
I'll be landing in Vancouver in a few hours. I'm going to attempt to get some rest. The last days have proven restless. From finding Mei, being excused from Overwatch and the Medical community for my own hubris, and returning home, to seeing Ana for the first time in years…I have too much on my mind to continue waking hours. Goodbye, ladies. I love you all. Please, keep yourselves safe and happy.
The next day, Hana arrived home. Having done her best in her tournament, the Korean pilot was ready to get dicked down by the hardest cock she knew, happy to get back to Angela. "Angie! I'm home!" she said, shutting the front door.
Amélie looked over as Hana came into the kitchen, and she smiled softly. "Hana. It's good that you're back. You need to know something, and Angela left a message for you. She's sorry that she didn't tell you this in person, but she had to leave."
"What…? Why?" Hana asked, her lip quivering. "Doesn't she love us anymore?"
"Of course, she does," Amélie said, walking over to Hana and wrapping her arms around the younger woman. "It's because she does that she left. She wants us to have our better lives, and that doesn't include her. She feels horribly that she's taken our lives from us, and she's given them back. She's left us the house, most of her money. She wants us to have good and better lives. Angela said she'd understand if you're angry, but she wants you to listen to her message first. Please?"
Hana nodded softly, pulling away from the sniper before being handed a tablet by Mei. "Thanks…" She turned it on and hit the play button, Angela's voice coming over the speaker.
"Hana. I'm so sorry I can't give you this message in person, Liebling. I'm sure that Am élie has filled you in on the basics, but you need to know something.
None of my reasons for leaving are your fault. I've said this in Sombra's, and Lena and Emily's messages, but none of you are to blame for this. I love all of you, and the last six months that I have had with all of you have been the best times I have ever had. I just want you to know that I don't resent a single moment I spent with you, Hana.
But, without me, you can have a normal life back. You can win your championships, your tournaments, go back to MEKA and keep your home safe. Find and fall in love with someone that you truly love. Just be happy. That's all I ask of you, my darling. Be happy. Smile and laugh, love with all of your heart. But just be happy. You've brought me so much joy, and your endless optimism has been the highlight of all of the women I brought home. That tattoo on your thigh, that marks you as someone that I will love my entire life. You're all angels to me, and I can't thank you enough for the love and joy you've brought, even if I don't deserve it.
So, you're probably making a mad face and threatening to break my legs if I don't come back. Once I'm settled in Vancouver, I'll make sure to tell Am élie where I am. And if you girls want, you can come to visit me. Don't worry about me, Hana. I'll be fine. Just like I know that you will.
I love you, darling.
Angela."
Hana sniffled, wiping her eyes and setting the tablet down. "Asshole…" she whispered, sinking into a chair and doing her best not to start crying.
Amélie wrapped her arms around Hana's shoulders, kissing her head softly. "Lena and Emily got basically the same message. Sombra, too, I suspect. She's left us her house, her money. She even told me that she'll send her jet back to us when she lands."
"Just won't be the same…"
"We'll adapt, darling. We always will," Amélie whispered, rubbing Hana's arm. "We will be fine."
