I do not own high school musical or any of the characters or songs, I only own this plot. I've had this story in my head for a while now and decided to finally release it, enjoy loves!
Gabriella laughed with her friends as they walked down the streets to her house. The house that her mom and her shared, her dad had left when Gabriella was born, claiming having a baby was too much stress.
"So you wanna continue that poster for the drama clubs showcase? It's due next Monday" Gabriella said.
"Aww, Gabs why work? We can do ANYTHING else!" Chad groaned.
"Do you want Mrs Darbus up your butt Chad?" Taylor asked, raising an eyebrow.
Chad waved his hand dismissively, "You people, Mrs D loves me, I'm her pride and joy." Chad said proudly. Everyone laughed.
"Um, if she loves you why did you get four weeks of detention this morning?" Taylor asked.
"Uh... let's not go there!" Chad said, looking away.
Gabriella laughed, she loved her life, she had everything she could ever want. Her mom, her boyfriend, her friends, what could ruin that?
Meanwhile, at home Maria was having a rather unpleasant conversation on the phone.
"Greg, we aren't doing this! She's happy without you! You've never cared to see her before!" Maria exclaimed.
Just then Gabriella and her friends walked into the house, "hi momma." Gabriella greeted.
Maria smiled at her daughter, "fine Greg, whatever, I'll talk to you later about it." Maria whispered into the phone before she hung it up. "Hi kids, snacks are on the counter." Maria said.
At the mention of food, chad raced into the kitchen and began to serve himself a bit of everything. Everyone laughed and gathered around the kitchen island to eat. Gabriella could tell something was wrong with her mom, she had tear stains on her face.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Gabriella asked.
Maria looked up at her daughter, she knew she couldn't lie, she had the right to know what was going on. "Listen sweetie, we have a problem with... your father."Maria began.
Gabriella tensed, her dad, Greg Montez had left when Gabriella was only a few days old, she had never really forgiven him for that. "What did he want?" Gabriella asked.
"He... wants to meet you."Maria said. Gabriella dropped her piece of apple. "He said he wants to meet you now because he misses you."
Gabriella rolled her eyes, "he's never cared before, why is now different?" Gabriella was so confused. She had been told her whole life he didn't want her in his life at all.
"I don't know baby, but I feel like he's up to something, so don't tell him anything you don't want spread around to another people." Maria told her. She looked at her daughters friends. "Gabby's father isn't the nicest person, so I'd like it if you guys could be here for support?" Maria requested.
"Of course, Mrs Montez." Martha agreed.
"Wouldn't be anywhere else." Troy smiled.
"When does he want to meet?" Gabriella asked Maria, her voice shook with fear.
Maria sighed, "he asked for tomorrow afternoon, I'll call him tonight for more details and let you all know, I'm so sorry this is happening now sweetie." Maria apologised, stroking Gabriella's cheek.
Gabriella shrugged, "I don't care, it's not like I love him anyway... or like he loves me." Gabriella sniffed.
"Aww Brie, I'm sure deep down he loves you, you're his daughter!" Troy soothed, rubbing her back.
Gabriella shook her head. She knew Troy was trying to help, but she knew this man, he didn't love her. She was his daughter by blood, but he didn't want her at all. Why was this happening now?
