Tai nodded and she told him the tale of the boy and the dragon. It was a fun adventurous tale about a boy who befriends a dragon and defeat a evil king to save a princess. Sora had told him this story in the past and he always enjoyed it. She told him one story after another and soon it was noontime.
"I'll be right back," said Sora standing up.
She walked to the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet. She pulled out the cough syrup and a small plastic medicine cup. She returned to his room and sat down beside him. She removed the cloth from his forehead.
"Can you sit up for me," requested Sora.
He made a unhappy face. "No medicine. It's yucky."
"Oh. Come on baby. Don't be that way," encouraged Sora her voice full of kindness. "If you don't take your medicine you'll never get better. You don't want to stay sick do you?"
"No," Tai remarked flatly.
"It's grape flavored," informed Sora. "You like grape."
Tai made a grumpy face.
"You're feel better if you take your medicine," she informed. "Now sit up. You can drink if fast."
He obeyed and she poured some syrup into the plastic cup. She handed him the cup and in one swift motion he gulped it down. She took the cup from him and he laid back down.
"Good boy," she complimented.
Sora set the cough syrup and the cup on the nightstand. Next she replaced the damp cloth on his forehead. Tai felt sleepy and he closed his eyes. She took hold of his hand and he fell asleep. He awoke a few hours later and saw that Sora was still sitting beside him.
"Hello there sleepy head," she said. "How do you feel?"
Tai groaned still feeling sore and hot.
"Can I get you anything," she asked.
His tummy rumbled.
"I'll get you something to eat," she told him.
Sora walked to the kitchen and returned with a tray upon which sat juice and animal crackers. He sat up and she placed the tray in front of him. He eat his crackers and drank his juice after which Sora set the tray on the nightstand.
