"Sora? Can I go watch TV," the five year old asked.

She thought for a moment not sure what to do. "I don't know. Your mommy said you had to stay in bed."

Tai gave her a pleading look.

"Well...Alright," she said standing up.

A minute later Tai sat in Sora's lap on the sofa. They watched cartoons. She placed a blanket around her shoulders wrapping him up in the soft fabric. They continued watching cartoons for the next few hours and a commercial came on the screen. Sora hit the mute button.

"Are you ready for dinner little guy," she inquired.

Tai nodded and a few minutes later Tai sat at the kitchen table with across from Sora and eat a bowl of tomato soup. Next she gave him a jello cup for dessert. They returned to the sofa where the sat side by side. A clap of thunder rolled across the rainy sky outside causing Tai to gasp nervously. Being a little boy he was afraid of the thunderstorm. Sora sat him in her lap and wrapped a blanket around him. She hugged him tightly against her chest.

"It's alright little one. I've got you," she told him.

He hugged her tightly feeling safe and warm. They continued to watch TV after which Sofa told him it was time for bath and bed. The boy nodded and brushed his teeth. Sora gave him a bah and helped him to change into his Pajamas. Tai sat on his bed and she poured him a cup cough syrup.

"More yuck medicine," the five year old complained.

Sora smiled. "You have to take or else your never get better."

Tai coughed his throat still feeling sore. She handed him the cup and he quickly gulped it down.

"Good boy," complimented Sora setting the nightstand.

She tucked him in and placed a cool damp wash cloth on his forehead. Next she told him a story until he fell sleep.

Later that night Yuuko who was soaked to the bone by the rain stepped into her apartment. She slipped off her shoes leaving them by the door after which she walked to Tai's room where Sora sat beside a sleeping Tai. Sora looked at her and smiled. Sora and Yuuko walked to the living room. Yuuko paid her in cash and thanked her for her time.

The next morning Tai awoke in his bed. The warm sun streamed in through his window blinds. He sat up feeling much better. He heard his mother in the kitchen and ran to her. She turned to him and picked him up in her arms.

"Good morning sweetie," Yuuko happily greeted him. "I see you're feeling better."

The boy smiled and nodded.

The End.
