"Well, I imagine you're overwhelmed with the relief in knowing that soon I will be gone," Tristan looked down at Rory; sorry that it was the last time he would see her face.

"I'm so sorry," Rory told him, and she meant it. She was honestly sorry he was being shipped off to military school.

"I'm a big boy. I can handle it."

Rory sighed. "There's nothing you can…" she started to ask, before being interrupted by Tristan's father.

"Tristan, come on," he called. Tristan turned to look at him, and then turned back to the girl standing in front of him.

"I've got to go. So, I might kiss you goodbye but, uh, your boyfriend's watching. Take care of yourself, Mary." Tristan turned slowly, and walked towards his father. He felt like crying, knowing that he had to leave without telling her how he really felt.

"Tristan," the voice was so soft Tristan thought he had imagined it at first. He paused, unsure of what to do.

"Mary?" he whispered. This time when he heard her voice, he knew it was for real. He turned slowly, not wanting to do anything that might scare her away.

The second their eyes met Rory surged forward, her lips meeting his in a moment of pure passion.

"Rory?" he pulled her chin up so their eyes could meet.

"So you do know my name," she smiled. It was the most beautiful thing Tristan had ever seen.

"Why did you do that?"

"I've wanted to ever since I met you. And if I didn't now…"Rory paused, unsure if she should continue. "If I didn't know, I would never get the chance. And I don't know if I could have dealt with that.

Tristan laughed, and smiled back at her, "I'm glad you did." He pulled her into his arms and held her until he heard his father call to him again.

"I don't want you to go," Rory was on the verge of crying.

"I'll come back for you. Don't forget about me, alright?" he waited until she nodded. "I'll find a way to keep in touch."

Rory nodded before she leaned in for one last kiss before he left. When she pulled away she tried to smile at him.

"What are you standing there for? Let's go. You better start sucking on an Altoid," Paris snapped as she brushed past, dressed to play Romeo.

"I guess I'll see you," Rory whispered.

"Count on it," Tristan turned away and walked towards his father. Rory watched his back for a moment, then turned to enter the auditorium.

"What the hell was that!" Dean shouted as he walked up to her.

"Sorry Dean," Rory looked up at her boyfriend regretfully. "But I'm in love."

A/N: Just a short little thing of how I would have liked the episode to end. I was thinking about expanding it, writing about when Tristan comes back. It all depends on how many reviews I get wink, wink, nudge, nudge
