Song is Every breath you take, by The Police. Pairing Greg/Sara
Every breath you take
And every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take
I'll be watching you
Grissom watched with dead eyes as Sara danced with Greg in the most intimate way he had ever saw. She had her forehead pressed against his, and they both stared into each other's eyes, as if having a secret conversation that they only spoke. Greg had his arms around her waist, and held her close, while his hands soothingly massaged her lower back. Her arms were laced around his neck, and her fingers were playing with the back of his hair. All in the while staring deep into each other's eyes and swaying to the soft music.
Every single day
And every word you say
Every game you play, every night you stay
I'll be watching you
His arms twitched. He wanted to be the one to hold her like that, and dance so freely with. He wanted to the be the one staring into her chocolate orbs and just get lost in them. He wanted her staring back at him, with so much love and adoration in her eyes. He wanted to be one the recieving end of her love. He wanted so much in life, yet didn't have the courage to do anything.
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
When the transition from friendship to a relationship changed between them, he didn't know. Somewhere between the friendly gestures and constant bickering, both their feelings towards one another had changed. Greg Sanders and Sara Sidle. He would look away when he saw them together. They gave off a...happy glow. God, he sounded like a wounded puppy who was just abandoned by his family. Of course they would be happy together. They're in love! They're getting married in less than a year. Grissom could sulk as long he wants, it wasn't changing the present.
Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace
I dream at night, I can only see your face
I look around, but it's you i can't replace
I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please,
Grissom didn't know what to think anymore. When he thought Sara would be there, waiting for him when he finally knew what to do about 'this', she was gone. Gone into the arms of another man, one who can offer her things that he can't, one who can make her smile. He was naive to think that she would be there for him whenever he needed her, to think that she would still want him after all these years. He was also naive to think of her as just Sara Sidle, she was also a woman, with needs and dreams. Surely, he should have known she would have wanted a family, and a home.
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Every move you make, every step you take
I'll be watching you
I'll be watching you
From experience, he knows that nothing can stop the pain from loosing her. Life was like that. It threw curve balls at you, and left you wondering. Wondering what the hell is going to happen next.
Catherine sat down beside him, looking at him sympathetically. Reaching over and squeezing his shoulders, she followed his gaze to Greg and Sara dancing. "She's happy, Grissom." She only said.
He knows.
