Acceptance
It took a while, a long while, but Miyuki learned to accept Ayako as her Tatsuya's mistress.
Ayako is a strong magician and a good operative, a spy master in her own right.
Beautiful to an acceptable degree to be allowed to share the bed of her husband.
It might be shallow, but Miyuki is considered the most beautiful woman in the world, and if her beloved would choose a mistress, said mistress should at least be in her level of beauty.
It's a matter of pride.
And that was what enrage Miyuki in the initial arrangement between her, Ayako, and Tatsuya.
Tatsuya did not choose to accept Ayako as a mistress. He was too loyal and in love with her to consider taking another woman.
This brought joy to Miyuki.
But that did not stop Ayako from finding a way in the arms and bed of her Tatsuya.
Ayako knew of her value, and by gambling and betting on said value and her own life even, she was able to strong-arm herself as a mistress of her husband.
Miyuki would hate Ayako for the entirety of her life for that.
But Miyuki could partially understand her cousin.
It was difficult to find a partner when perfection was nearby.
If Miyuki was in Ayako's place, she might have done the same.
Bond
In the depths of Ayako's mind, she did not consider the bond between Tatsuya and Miyuki to be strong.
Their bond was binding, permanent, undeniable, but it was not strong.
Regardless of how anyone cut it, at the end of the day, Tatsuya did not have a choice on who he would love.
In Ayako's point of view, he was force to only love Miyuki, and that always rubbed Ayako the wrong way.
She never had a chance with him, and that irked Ayako to the point of desperation.
Compromise
As clan head, as the matriarch of the Yotsuba, Miyuki learned quickly that more often than not, she needs to make compromises in order to maintain the reputation and the status of the Clan.
Apparently, having a God in the family with the ability to destroy the world is not enough to maintain the Yotsuba's position at the top of Japan's Magical Community.
It irritated Miyuki to send her beloved Onii-sama and honored husband to reeducate the curs and plebians of Japan and the world on why it is suicidal for them to even think of challenging her and the Yotsuba.
For the greater good, compromises and concessions must be made, even if said compromises and concessions did not bode well for Miyuki.
A compromise that Miyuki detested in making was sharing her husband to her cousin, Ayako.
Miyuki, begrudgingly, had got to hand it to Ayako. She knows her value to the Yotsuba, and she was willing to bet her life to get into her husband's bed.
Suicide was a cowardly option, but Ayako was willing to end her life if she did not get what she wanted.
The woman part of Miyuki would have assisted her desperate cousin in ending her life.
She was created for her Onii-sama. Her very existence is for her Tatsuya-sama. There was no need for a second woman.
But as Clan Head, Miyuki needed to consider Ayako's value, both as an operative and her genetics, and as much as irritated her, Ayako was more valuable alive than dead.
Not to mention, Miyuki would lose the Kuroba Branch if she did not allow her whore of a cousin to be her Onii-sama's mistress.
It was irritating, but Miyuki compromised with Ayako, and allowed her to be the mistress of her brother.
It was irritating and humiliating, and it still fills Miyuki with rage thinking about.
At the very least, watching her brother discipline the stupid slut was a delight to see, regardless if Ayako was into that kind of depravation.
Debt
Ayako loves her father.
To her, Kuroba Mitsugu, regardless of how overbearing he is, is the best father in the world.
That being said, she hated how her father treated Tatsuya.
Discovering the reason on why her father treated Tatsuya in such a way merely soured Ayako's opinion towards her father.
In Ayako's perspective, the Kuroba has a debt towards Tatsuya due to how their previous family head treated him, and Ayako was the payment for said debt.
If Ayako had to offer her very being to her favorite cousin, to open her legs to Tatsuya whenever he needs pleasure or to let out stress, so be it.
Ayako would pay the debt of the Kuroba family towards Tatsuya, with interest.
It was a debt that Ayako would joyfully settle.
Earn
Ayako would be the first to admit that the manner in which she strong armed Miyuki in allowing her to be Tatsuya's mistress in reprehensible.
Suicide is the coward's way and her leveraging her branch family to Miyuki earned her scorn from both the Kuroba and the entirety of the Yotsuba.
It had earned her the disappoint of the man she loved.
That being the case, years later as she re-earned the forgiveness of her immediate family, as she re-earned the respect of her clan, and as she extracts a form of acceptance from Miyuki in her relationship with her husband…
As she earned a kiss with a portion of love and affection that was normally reserve for Miyuki from Tatsuya, Ayako decided that her gambit was well worth it.
First
There was one fact about Ayako that always irked Miyuki to know end.
That fact is that Ayako had loved her Tatsuya first, and that frustrated Miyuki to no end.
In fact, Ayako is Tatsuya's many first.
Ayako was Tatsuya's first student.
Ayako was Tatsuya's first magic tester.
Ayako was Tatsuya's first friend.
Yes, her Tatsuya had always loved her. She would always be his number one priority in this world, but that did not change the fact that Ayako had loved Tatsuya before her, that Ayako was Tatsuya's many first.
That fact aggravated Miyuki, and in some way, that fact had made her agreed with Ayako's gambit in becoming her Tatsuya's mistress.
In a way, Ayako loving Tatsuya first made Miyuki felt like she owed Ayako a favor.
Miyuki disliked said favor giving Ayako the opportunity to become a lover of her husband.
Genuine
"I cannot love you the way I love Miyuki."
After months of punishment and disciplining, sessions in which Ayako enjoyed in ways that she did not expect, Tatsuya finally rewarded her with a session of love making.
It was glorious and it was worth the wait.
When she was laying on her bed, exhausted, satisfied, gratified, and conquer in ways that not even her wildest dreams could ever form, Tatsuya said those eight words.
Ayako merely smiled at him in satisfaction.
Tatsuya is a genuine being, and she appreciated that.
"This is enough."
It was more than enough.
Hell
It was hell.
Watching Miyuki walked down the aisle towards Tatsuya was hell for Ayako.
Watching her two cousin exchange vows and exchange looks of love was hell for her as well.
Watching the two exchange a kiss that bind themselves to each other was the ultimate form of hell.
There and then, as Ayako's mere presence was drowned in the applause of friends and family, she made a decision.
Regardless of the hell and shame that she would traverse, she would get her happiness in the arms of Tatsuya.
In this unreasonable and hellish world, she would get her own slice of heaven.
Identity
In her life, Ayako received several identities as she grew in infamy in the world.
First was Yoru, an alias that she wore whenever she and her brother performs missions for the Yotsuba.
Second was Win Fairy, an alias that she gained due to her skills in [Mock Teleportation].
Third was Phantom, due to her ability to get in and out of places that no people, either magicians or otherwise, could get in and out of.
Ayako had many names aside from those three, but those three names were what she place some value in.
But the identity that Ayako cherished and valued the most was a simple title.
Kuroba Ayako, mistress of one Yotsuba Tatsuya.
Regardless of the connotation of her title, she carried being the mistress of the strongest being in the world with pride.
Jealousy
Aside from overcoming the disappointment of Kuroba Mitsugu towards his daughter's current position in the family, the biggest hurdle that Ayako overcame as Tatsuya's mistress was the jealousy her brother, Fumiya, felt towards her.
It was an open secret that Kuroba Fumiya is bisexual, and he carried a torch towards Tatsuya.
The Kuroba twins did not just share their looks with each other, they also share the same taste in men.
Unfortunately for Fumiya, Tatsuya is strictly heterosexual, and his sex drive, that was awaken in his late teens, was solely aimed towards Miyuki.
It took years for Ayako to be viewed by Tatsuya as someone to be considered to gratify his sexual urges.
Ayako knew that Fumiya detested her in, for a lack of better words, worming her way into Tatsuya's bed, and for once, the younger twin showed his elder sister how much her gambit irked him.
The manner in which Ayako use in order to be Tatsuya's mistress angered and offended Fumiya to such a degree that the two did not spoke for years.
This hurt Ayako. Fumiya had always been her mirror image, her partner, and for her twin to ignored her for almost half a decade wounded her in ways that she could not described.
It may have been worth it in the end: she earned a portion of Tatsuya's love, she earned a bit of Miyuki's acceptance, and she had mended bridges with her twin, but it still hurt losing her twin in the pursuit of her happiness.
Kindness
In Ayako's opinion, her love for Tatsuya, her prodigious cousin, emerge from something pure.
Unlike her Clan Head, her cousin.
Unlike Miyuki, Ayako did not fall in love with Tatsuya because of his power.
And that, Ayako concluded was the root of Miyuki's love towards Tatsuya.
It was funny really, before Okinawa all those years ago, Miyuki merely had a minor curiosity towards her brother.
After Okinawa, after Miyuki bared witnessed to the power that lay dormant within her brother, she suddenly decided that Tatsuya was the one for her.
Miyuki's love for Tatsuya was true, it was powerful, but it was not pure.
Unlike hers.
Unlike Miyuki who fell in love with the power and abilities that Tatsuya has, Ayako fell in love with him due to his kindness.
Ayako still remembered the boy who helped her find her place in the Yotsuba when she was in the verge of losing her.
She remembered the young man who should have been the true heir of the family training her for the simple reason of a curiosity.
Because he saw potential in her and decided to help her reach said potential.
Yotsuba Tatsuya was well known for his intellect, for his abilities, for his power, and many woman fell in love with him due to those qualities.
Not her. Ayako fell in love with him due to his kindness, and that was pure.
Label
Much to the ire and disappointment of her father, Ayako never took a husband.
She never married, and that was not for a lack of trying from her father's part.
Even her twin brother tried to arranged marriage interviews for her.
It was aggravating.
Ayako found joy in rejecting the men that her brother and father considers good enough for her.
She already set her sight on a man that she wants to spend her life with, and she would not entertain alternatives.
Yes, Ayako would just be a mistress, but to be with her God and the love of her life…
Ayako would be willing to wear any label.
Mistress
Ayako was fully aware the looks that she was receiving from her clan and family, most of them negative.
She was aware of the whispers that was aimed at her direction, most of them derogatory.
Quite frankly, Ayako did not care.
Ayako was not ashamed to be a mere mistress.
Ashamed of being a mistress? Hardly.
Which was better?
To be the wife of a man of little ability or passion, or a mistress to a man of passion, intelligence and greatness?
The choice was easy to the point that it was not worth considering.
She was the mistress of a God, and that position was something Ayako was quite satisfied with.
New
It was a new experience for Miyuki allowing another woman to have a piece of her brother.
It was an irksome experience if nothing else, but in a way, Miyuki could at least admit that Ayako was proving her worth in gold.
Miyuki was self-aware enough that she was sheltered when compared to her other cousins.
Unlike her peers within the family, and even though she was heir apparent and current clan head, Miyuki did not have a single field mission in her name.
She was too important to Tatsuya to be put into any kind risk.
Ayako though had many field missions in her name to the point that she had the second most fields missions in her name in their generation.
Tatsuya was the only one above her when it comes to mission quota, both in quality and quantity.
With Ayako acting as her adviser, together with Tatsuya, Miyuki was able to operate the Yotsuba in ways that rivals Maya's reign, minus the brief flashes and surges of insanity.
So yes, it was a new and unpleasant feeling to have to share her brother and husband with someone else, but at the very least, Ayako was useful.
If she stopped being useful, that is another matter entirely.
Obscure
It was obscure at first, hidden, subtle, but the day Ayako received her first chaste kiss on the cheek from Tatsuya, she knew that she was getting some head way towards a portion of Tatsuya's heart.
Tatsuya was not an overly affectionate man.
True, he would flirt with Miyuki as a form of teasing, but serious show of love and fondness is reserve behind closed doors.
When Ayako was rewarded with a small kiss on the cheek, in front of her father no less, that was a sign that she was have headway as Tatsuya's mistress.
Petty
Miyuki, regardless of all of her elegance and beauty, was a petty creature.
Example of that pettiness, Miyuki had forced Ayako to watch a love making session between her and Tatsuya.
And that was the pettiest thing that Miyuki could do to Ayako.
Regardless of how stimulating or titillating it is to watch someone as beautiful as Miyuki be undone in sexual euphoria, Ayako did not appreciate seeing the difference in how Tatsuya treated them in bed.
When it comes to her, Tatsuya often fucks her as if doing her was a duty, another part of his responsibility that needs to be done in order for the Yotsuba to run smoothly. Yes, there was some level of affection whenever they copulate, but there are times when Tatsuya merely fucks her in order to achieve sexual gratification.
Sometimes, when they fuck, Tatsuya takes her as if they were both animals merely performing the deed to fulfill sexual needs.
Tatsuya was different whenever he beds Miyuki.
Ayako was force to watched as Tatsuya worships every inch of Miyuki's flesh.
Ayako was force to watched as Tatsuya treated Miyuki as if she was a Goddess.
Ayako was force to watched as Tatsuya reduced Miyuki into a moaning, begging mess with skills and prowess that he would never use on her.
This performance was only reserve to Miyuki.
It aggravated Ayako to see the things that she would never experience.
It irked her that whenever Miyuki reached her peak, her clan head would flash her a smug, triumphant look that made Ayako want to strangle her petty bitch of a cousin.
Quit
Miyuki hated Ayako on how she strong-armed her into agreeing to her asinine wish of being Tatsuya's mistress.
She hated her cousin very much.
But Miyuki also respected her.
Ayako never quit.
There had been scores of people that had been in love with her brother, from Honoka to Saegusa Mayumi, but each and everyone of them gave up.
They quit in the pursuit of her brother's heart.
Not Ayako.
She did not quit and use every bit of herself to get a piece of her brother.
If nothing else, that was worth respecting.
Rivalry
Tatsuya loves Miyuki with all his being, heart, body, and soul.
Tatsuya adores Ayako to a degree that she was merely a step behind Miyuki in his heart.
Tatsuya considers himself both bless and lucky to have Miyuki as his wife and Ayako as his mistress.
That said, even he feels a bit aggravated when the two quarrels over him.
His Miyuki and his Ayako are rivals, and it seems that even if the hierarchy of their relationship was defined, both girls would still strive to get every bit of attention that they could get from him.
It was cute at first, but being the object of the two beautiful women's rivalry can be a bit too much at times.
Sex
The copulation between Ayako and Tatsuya, at first, did not involve much love or care, or even sexual gratification, for Tatsuya's part at least.
Ayako spent the first few years as Tatsuya's mistress as a mere pet that needed training and discipline.
Tatsuya did not like her suicide play in order to be his mistress, and he expressed it upon her behind closed doors.
In public, in front of the clan, Tatsuya treated her with respect and kindness, and he even gave her affection every now and then.
Behind closed doors, Ayako quickly discovered that Tatsuya can be as sadistic and vindictive as Yotsuba Maya.
Tatsuya taught Ayako the pleasure in pain, and the pain in pleasure.
Ayako endured though, and she had enjoyed most of the things that Tatsuya had done to her, and in the end, she had earned Tatsuya's forgiveness.
In the end, she had earned enough love from her ideal man to received several sessions of love making from him.
That being said, Ayako still insisted on some disciplining sessions every now and then.
Tatsuya ruined her in every single way, and Ayako would not have it any other way.
Trinity
Regardless of how it came to be, Tatsuya, Miyuki, and Ayako made for quite a trinity.
Miyuki was the face of the Yotsuba, a symbol to the country, to the world, that the infamous untouchables are open to cooperate with the world.
Tatsuya was the hammer of the Yotsuba, a God capable of protecting the clan if needed, a demon willing to annihilate the enemies of the family when required.
Ayako was the phantom of the family, with the willingness and capacity to search for the threats of the family in the shadows.
With the three of them in the helm, the Yotsuba became even stronger.
Unnecessary
Taking Ayako in their bed and welcoming her to their lives as a lover was unnecessary for Tatsuya and Miyuki.
Tatsuya was fond of Ayako, but his feelings did not go passed that of familial love, and Miyuki had felt more than irritation towards her cousin due to her constant pursuit of her brother and husband.
Nonetheless, they took her as a lover.
Ayako may have been unnecessary in their relationship, but she was an enjoyable bonus if nothing else.
Victory
As a mistress, Ayako would never wed. She would not have a ceremony of her own that would celebrate her and her partner. She would not have ceremony that would bind her to the man of her dreams.
The man of her dreams was already wed.
The wedding ceremony between Tatsuya and Miyuki was one of a kind.
Ayako would never have that.
But, what she had, was Tatsuya's limited affection and love, a few dates and outings between them, just them, a few kisses of passion, and nights in which she drowns in pleasure at the hands of man that she had wanted since she was a girl.
All things consider, it was a victory that she had never expected in her life.
Wish
Being strong armed into sharing her husband and brother was not a pleasant experience for one Yotsuba Miyuki.
She hated it in fact.
The only consolation that Miyuki received from this arrangement was watching Ayako get broken whenever she joins them in bed.
Miyuki held Tatsuya heart, and vice versa. Ayako was merely a toy, and she was treated as such, and Miyuki relished watching her harlot of a cousin scream in painful pleasure.
In a way, Ayako was getting what she wanted.
A wife is to be love and cherish, worshipped by her husband, and Tatsuya played that part extremely well.
A mistress is to be used in bed, treated as nothing more than toy to extract pleasure from.
In a way, Ayako got what she wished for.
Xyst
As a mistress, Ayako knew that she would never marry Tatsuya, that she would never have a wedding of her own.
She accepted that fully.
She got a part of Tatsuya, and that was enough for her.
But Tatsuya cares for her, he was fond of her, and though he would not care for her that way he cares for Miyuki, a modicum of love still exist within Tatsuya's heart that is reserved for Ayako alone.
So, Tatsuya gave Ayako a symbolic gesture.
After a mission that was handle by both of them, Tatsuya led Ayako to a beautiful xyst, surrounded by many flowers. He handed Ayako a beautiful wedding dress and told her that he would wait for her in the end of the xyst.
It was a beautiful gesture.
Dawning the dress and being delighted that it fitted her style, Ayako walked upon the xyst and when she reached the end of the garden corridor, she and Tatsuya exchange marital vows.
It was not a wedding, the only witnesses were the two of them, but it was enough for Ayako.
The sex after the makeshift wedding was also mind blowing.
Yield
Tatsuya had only betrayed Miyuki's trust and loyalty towards him one time, and that was when he agreed with the arrangement between Miyuki and Ayako to take the latter as his mistress.
Honestly, Tatsuya could have rejected the arrangement. He could have prevented Ayako from committing suicide, and he could have talked with her, make her understand his circumstances.
But he did not.
He yielded to the agreement between the women for the simple reason that Ayako would be much more useful towards Miyuki if he kept her close to him, if he bounded her to Miyuki in the form of intimacy.
Tatsuya considers Kuroba Ayako as the most dangerous Yotsuba in their generation. In a way, she was even more dangerous than him.
He may have the power to destroy the world, but he was not one for tactics and strategy.
What is the use of tactics and strategy if one has the ability to go through any obstacles.
On the other hand, Ayako is devious, cunning, ruthless, amoral, and a brilliant strategist when push comes to shove.
In a way, Ayako is Yotsuba Maya without the insanity and the affinity towards a sure-kill magic.
That made Ayako even more dangerous.
At the absent of necessary tools, one must innovate, and Tatsuya knows that Ayako can be quite creative when it comes to killing.
If she wanted to, Ayako can be a thorn to Miyuki's rule as Clan Head of the Yotsuba.
If she wanted to, Ayako can be a threat to Miyuki's life.
That alone would have guaranteed Ayako a swift death from him.
But Ayako is family. She is his first friend and student.
And quite frankly, Ayako was valuable enough alive than dead.
Ayako is useful as both an advisor and strategist to Miyuki, so much so, that Tatsuya would not kill her outright.
So, Tatsuya yielded and accepted Ayako as a mistress.
It was better for Ayako to be pliable alive and as his mistress rather than a slighted woman and a threat.
Zeal
Most woman would frown upon being just a mistress to the one they love.
Not Ayako.
No.
Ayako tackled her status as Tatsuya's mistress with zeal and enthusiasm.
Ayako knows that she could have found greater joy with another man that would love her wholeheartedly, that would love her in a similar way that Tatsuya love Miyuki.
Ayako did not want that.
Ayako wanted Tatsuya, and she was self-aware enough that she would not have the whole of him.
That's fine.
She was satisfied with what she got.
I just remembered that I have a drabble series and decided to put another story in said series.
Was it always this difficult to write drabbles or is my memory fading?

On a side note, I finally remember why I write.
I am getting happier as I write random shit in the form of stories.
