All Sirius wanted to do was go over and confess to Remus (one of his best friends) that he has a big crush on him and wanted to see if they could go to Hogsmeade together on a date. But he just can't. Sirius doesn't understand why he can't just go over and tell him. He has told girls easily that he wants to go out and also rejecting them as easily. So why can't he tell his best friend that he is in love with him and has been for almost 4 years now?

Sirius groaned out loud, luckily not that weird since he was doing a potions essay (or at least that was what he was telling his friends. He was in reality just looking at the book blankly and will look at his notes and write something down ((What the hell is wrong with me on his notes)) so it was only natural that he is going to be upset.

Maybe it is because I actually have something to lose this time. Sirius started thinking more about the issue at hand, and not "Why am I like this?". When he had flung with girls and told them no, it would change nothing about his life, well nothing big anyway, just one more girl that was pissed at him when he rejected him/left her after finding it dull. Which only made the "I can fix him." In the girls that he hasn't done that to stronger which gives him more attention (which by the way he loves) but even more lately the only person's attention he has cared about is Remus'. He sighed dramatically and continued to think. Why do I have to be like this?

"You doing okay there Padfoot? You keep signing and look. . well weird." Remus asks, looking concerned at his best friend. "Like you look like you are about to vomit? Are you? Cause if you are I am going to run and grab a trash can." Remus looked as if he even made the smallest tiniest sign that he was going to say yes he would run and grab it just in time.

"I am fine. I just have a headache and it is bugging me," Sirius says mentally patting himself on the back for quickly coming back to something that was completely possible. Sirius will never let himself forget about the time he said he was going to see the fish in the lake instead of going to the owlery.

"Really? Why don't you go to Madam Pomfrey and get a headache potion? It can do wonders. You would never know how much it is hurting you until you get the relief." Remus said getting up anyway and getting ready to go to the hospital wing whether Sirius wants to. Though Sirius is still going to argue against it.

"I am fine Moony. It is not bad enough for the potion." But Remus didn't care, grabbing both of their books and notes and dragging Sirius to the hospital wing. Sirius had never been more thankful for Madman Pomfrey not letting friends or just bystanders in when asking the student what is wrong and what they need. Remus was mad and said that it was only a headache and he knows what is wrong, Madman Pomfrey insists and closes the curtain around the cot.

"Alright, Sirius, what is the problem?" Madam Pomfrey asks as she picks up her wand and gives him this look that says "If this is some silly prank I am going to kill you."

"Well, I have a headache and it in all honestly isn't that bad but Remus had insisted on coming to get it checked out. It is fine. If you could just tell him you gave me the potion so he will calm down that would be great." Sirius got out with little sounding like he was coming up with everything on the spot. Though with the look Madman Pomfrey was looking at him, he was pretty sure she had it figured out. Just when he thought he was fucked Madman Pomfrey got this look on her face like she knew that he just said that to Remus because he was thinking about his pending crush on him and was trying to clear the air why he was sighing at his feelings.

"Alright, let me get that for you." Madam Pomfrey says leaving for a couple of minutes and coming back with a potion telling him to drink it while holding said potion. A few seconds later she put the unopened bottle into the drawer and pulled open the curtains and Sirius could have cried from relief that she went along with it.

"Thank you so much Madam Pomfrey," Sirius says getting up and going to Remus who was reading and working on his potion essay.

"Anytime Sirius, I have done this multiple times for students so it is no big deal." Madman Pomfrey says with some amusement in her tone to Sirius' disbelief. Remus finally looked up at Sirius while picking up their things.

"See? Don't you feel better?" Remus says looking like he already knows the answer to the question that he just asked.

"Yeah, you were right Moony," Sirius says, grabbing his things from Remus' arms. "I usually am," Remus says laughing at the facial expression that Sirius was giving him which basically said "Excuse me. What about that one time I figured out the charm for the Marauder's Map that you thought was the opposite charm?"

They walked to the common room since James and Peter should get out of care of magical creatures. All they talked about was how they were going to make a spell to make it so that whenever someone (Snape) would go up to any door it would lock and would not let only him in but would unlock if someone else came and opened the door. Remus thinks we should take Alohomora and take Colloportus and make it from locking doors so they cannot be opened manually to locking doors so everyone but this one person can open the door but not when they are near the door, and so if they are the door will shut and not open until said person is away. Sirius agreed and then they started talking about how they would do that.

Remus and Sirius were now sitting in their dormarity that was the Marauders only because Kingsley Shacklebolt on the first night during their first year took one look at all of them talking and said "No." for the past 6 years has slept with the year older but now being the oldest he had gone on to the 6th year refusing to be part of whatever the hell they did.

"Do you think we could convince Lily that we are not doing anything too bad for her help?" Remus asks working on his Arithmancy homework.

"I don't think we preface that anymore since she fucking hates him. If we tell her we are just doing it to Snape, which we are, then she will be completely fine with it. In fact, she will probably make it 10 times worse. Why do you think she won't?" Sirius asks confused because since last year she turned a blind eye to the pranks they played on him then quickly became involved as one of the masterminds behind them. Though not the one that got their hands dirty she enjoys being the "good kid" which is helpful when she can cover for them since the teachers still think that she can do no wrong or at least with the Marauders.

"Sorry, I get "Perfect Lily" mixed up with the Lily that we know. It is hard sometimes to have both the Lily that would kill a student for daring to prank someone and also coming up with crazy ideas to pull on people." Remus replies giving this look of remembering Lily when she was in the craze of last school year when she snapped and wanted to make Snape's life hell and did multiple all-nighters of making a potion that made him randomly vomit and turn green literally and couldn't be undone and would completely go through the body system in a week. It was a disgusting week. And an exhausted Lily is a monster worse than a vampire on a blood craze.

"Yeah, she is a multi-dimensional person," Sirius says remembering the time she wanted to mortify Rick Jones from Ravenclaw for cheating on her friend Mary with multiple other girls by turning him Gryffindor colors on the last Quidditch match to win the Quidditch cup and then proceeded to make him stay those colors for the entire match including his broom and then made him glow colors so he was distracted and Gryffindor won the Quidditch match.

What preceded the 2 boys was a silence of having all the memories of Lily Evans going off the rails for vengeance if someone dared cross her but also made it so that it didn't look like she was the one who did it and pinned it on the Marauders. She was a force to be reckoned with. After Merlin knows how long it was before Peter and James entered the room.

"Why are both of you looking at the wall?" James asks, looking between his 2 best friends with an expression of confusion.

"We were just thinking about Lily and how she can be the teacher's pet and one of the best pranksters in the school," Remus says, shaking his head along with his thoughts and going back to working on Arithmancy. James and Peter gave nods of understanding. James went to grab his scrolls for Arithmancy for his own homework when he looked like he had forgotten something and looked at Sirius.

"Oh, Sirius, I almost forgot to tell you. Your brother ran into us in the hallway and wants to talk to you in the library saying something about a thing that your parents want to be let on about." James says now after saying the thing that was plaguing his thoughts went back to looking for a quill-like it was just James saying that he forgot a book in a class. Sirius was shocked.

"Okay. . ." Sirius says getting up and just going to the library the only thing he could process was what his brother wanted with him and also he really should just live there. He walked with silence, no thoughts , no nothing. Sirius easily found Regulus since he had one of these visits when Regulus told him that he was burned off the family tree. And surely enough Regulus was there looking out the window obviously waiting for someone and that someone was now there. He looked over to Sirius as he pulled out a chair and sat down.

"So, what did the old hag want now?" Sirius asks, leaning back in his chair and starting to braid his hair out of boredom and just wanting to do something while talking about whatever happened. Being so distracted by remembering how to do a French braid Sirius missed the look of guilt that crossed Regulus' face that was gone as quickly as it came.

"Well, I am actually here to talk to you about something else." Regulus begins trying to figure out what words he should say next, so he doesn't give his brother a heart attack. Sirius looked at him with confusion written on his face.

"Okay, what about? I am guessing it must be embarrassing or deeply personal if you didn't want to tell my friends about it." Sirius says, restarting his braid because he messed it up, wondering what in the name of Merlin is Regulus wanting to talk to him about.

"Well, how do I put this? You know how the 7th and 6th years are in the same arithmancy class?" Regulus asks, and Sirius deduced he was asking him this to get more time to plan out how he was going to say whatever it was to Sirius.

"Yeah, Moony and Padfoot are in there with you. What does that have to do with anything?"

"Well, James and I are partners in the class."
"I didn't know that. James has never mentioned it. Though that does make a lot more sense of how he gets all those details about what you are up to during and outside of class." Sirius mutters the last part to himself not wanting Regulus to know that he was extremely interested in what is going on in his life just cause things have been weird between them after Sirius leaves to the Potters. He just wanted to make sure his little brother was doing okay without having an awkward conversation with Regulus or in a way that his Sirius and Regulus's parents could find out. Since he made the safe bet, they weren't fond of him anymore. Though they have never been that fond of him before he left to the Potters. Thankfully Regulus didn't think too much of what Sirius muttered or why there was silence afterwards since he was so caught up in him trying to frame whatever the hell he was talking about.

"So, it's been about half the school year and we have gotten to know each other pretty well and I um. Well I kinda maybe have a crush on him." Regulus states looking like he wanted to go under a bridge and die for admitting that out loud let alone to Sirius, his older brother and best friend of James Potter.

Sirius looked like he was:

A. Going to turn to a ghost.

B. kill someone.

C. vomit.

D. All of the above.

After a long moment of silence , Sirius' expression on his face changed from mad, sad, confused, horrified, back to mad. And so on and so forth. By, some miracle by the fucking gods Sirius could restrain himself doing something about the information that was just given to him and could get out a question through gritted teeth.

"Does James know?" Regulus was shocked that Sirius could restrain himself and be able to actually form words.

"I haven't told him if that is what you mean. I just. . .want to complain about it. Is that fine or. . ." Regulus asks, looking like he wanted to bolt out of the library and never set eyes on his older brother or anyone for that matter ever again.

"You know what, sure." Sirius says not wanting to hear about how his little brother liked his best friend but he wanted Regulus back in his life so if this was what he had to do for it then maybe he can suffer a bit.

Regulus looked a bit taken aback but then went on about how James is just so nice and funny (but don't tell him that because if you do he will think that he can make the same joke repeatedly and think he is amazing.) Which then turned about how dumb he can be and blind about what he is doing or saying. At some point in time they switched to French because with the day coming to the end more people were making their way to the library to get last-minute books on things. Again at another point in time Sirius started talking about his crush on Remus.

It started as vague "Oh, I get that." To "You know my crush does that too." And then somehow it turned to Sirius talking about how blind Remus is about his feelings for him. (And when this started Regulus thought about how dumb Sirius was being about Remus having a crush on him for at least the past 2 years.) All in all, it was a great time. But then Madam Pince kicked them out because the library was closed and the 2 brothers agreed to meet up to talk to each other on the same day and time.

"Sirius! You would not believe what Lily did." Regulus says to Sirius at their usual spot.

"What?"

"She finally asked Mary McDonald out."

"Really? How in Merlin's name did I not hear about this sooner!"

"Regulus."

"Yeah?"

"Darlene and Marlen are now together. And you won't BELIEVE how it happened!"

"Why do boys have to be so blind?"

"Regulus, you realize that you too are a boy."

". . ."

"Sirius, why do boys I like have to be so blind?"

"Is it true in 6th year you and Marlen fake dated for a day then "broke up" just to make James such the fuck up about how you had a "crush" on her because you lied and said it was her instead of Remus when asking for advice?"

"Yeah, it was so dumb and theatrical, I can't believe he believed it."

"Why did I fall for him? He can be so dense."

"Regulus I have no idea I am not in your brain or body."

"Did you hear that the Ravenclaw captain was dating Everlane, Nex, AND Bell?"

"Sirius, you better have gotten every single dirty detail of how it started, when it started, how did he get away with it, so on and so forth."

"When have I failed you like this before?"

"Never."

"Why can't I just tell Remus?"

"Well, if you are anything like me. It is because since you have a friendship with him and considering our household we are told to never express any emotion so it is already harder for you to talk about normal feelings and confessing to someone can be very nerve-racking to a plain person. And then you add that you have been friends for so long that you don't want to mess that up."

"When I ask that you are supposed to say "Your just being a coward!" and not analyze me."

"How the hell was I supposed to know that?"

"When someone asks that they are not looking for a serious answer!"
"But Sirius. It was a Sirius answer."

"Oh Merlin, you have been around James for too long."

"Oh, about that we are going out now."

"WHAT!"
